SCINTILLA‑SNN is a 3D spiking neural network designed to predict perineural invasion (PNI) in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) from MRI scans. It uses a four‑stage hierarchical backbone and a Multi‑Scale Spike Aggregation module to focus on sparse, localized PNI cues while reducing computational load. In a 10‑year retrospective study of 182 patients, the model achieved an AUROC of 0.748 and cut inference energy by over 23× compared to dense MAC‑only approaches.

Inferring contrast enhancement from one pre-contrast breast MRI slice is underdetermined: post-contrast appearance contains physiological information that is not uniquely encoded in baseline anatomy. Optimizing only paired pixel fidelity can suppress uncertain lesion enhancement, whereas adversarial or stochastic generative objectives can favor realistic post-contrast appearance without guaranteeing patient-specific lesion fidelity.
RACR-MIL is a weakly‑supervised method for grading squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) from whole‑slide images, using an attention‑based multiple‑instance learning framework. It introduces a hybrid WSI graph to capture local tissue context and non‑local phenotypic dependencies, and applies rank‑ordering constraints on attention to prioritize higher‑grade tumor regions, mirroring pathologists’ diagnostic reasoning. The approach achieves state‑of‑the‑art performance, improving SCC grading accuracy by 3–9% over existing methods and up to 10% in tumor localization, and a pilot study showed pathologists reported increased grading efficiency in 60% of cases.

Merlin Plus is a new, large-scale CT dataset that provides radiologist‑created tumor masks for nine different organs, adding 1,153 per‑voxel masks and longitudinal metadata to the existing Merlin collection. The dataset was built using a report‑based active‑learning framework, where radiology reports flag tumor cases, a segmentation model generates initial masks, and radiologists review and correct them, thereby reducing annotation effort while preserving high quality. The added longitudinal data enables temporal modeling of cancer progression, supporting scalable multi‑organ cancer detection, segmentation, and longitudinal analysis in CT.
