TAP3D: Thermal-Assisted 3D Human Point Clouds

TAP3D is a new system that reconstructs dense 3D human point clouds from low‑cost thermal array sensors, avoiding the high cost, sparsity, and privacy issues of LiDAR, radar, and depth cameras. It uses a physics‑informed design with a forward thermal model, multi‑primitive estimation for self‑supervised depth recovery, and geometric perspective fusion to suppress interference and separate multiple people. The system, built on a single commodity sensor and evaluated on a 160K‑sample dataset, achieves high accuracy in downstream tasks such as fall detection, indoor tracking, and human mesh recovery.

Solution for UCF UrbanTwin LUMPI Track: Sim-to-Real Urban LiDAR 3D Object Detection

The paper presents a solution for the UCF UrbanTwin LUMPI Track in the Sim-to-Real LiDAR Challenge, where a detector trained solely on synthetic data must perform on real LiDAR frames. The approach tackles the Sim2Real gap through data alignment, diversified sampling, augmentation, and specialized detectors, followed by class-aware fusion and calibration techniques. The final submission achieved a Combined Score of 0.4692, a Detection Score of 0.1797, a Realism Score of 0.9035, and a 3D mAP@0.5 of 0.1258.

PoseDreamer: Scalable and Photorealistic Human Data Generation Pipeline with Diffusion Models

PoseDreamer is a new pipeline that uses diffusion models to generate large‑scale synthetic datasets for 3D human mesh estimation, providing 3D mesh annotations that remain aligned with the generated images. The system incorporates controllable image generation, Direct Preference Optimization for control alignment, curriculum‑based hard sample mining, and multi‑stage quality filtering to produce over 500,000 high‑quality samples with a 76% improvement in image‑quality metrics over traditional rendering‑based datasets. Models trained on PoseDreamer match or surpass those trained on real‑world or conventional synthetic data, and combining PoseDreamer with synthetic datasets yields better performance than mixing real and synthetic data alone.

LaGen: Towards Autoregressive LiDAR Scene Generation

LaGen is an autoregressive framework that generates long‑horizon LiDAR scenes frame by frame, using a single‑frame input and bounding‑box conditions to produce high‑fidelity 4D scenes. It introduces a scene decoupling estimation module for better object‑level interaction and a noise modulation module to reduce error accumulation over time. Evaluations on the nuScenes dataset show that LaGen outperforms existing methods, especially on later frames.

Bootstrapping a 4D LiDAR Annotation Tool from Video Foundation Models

The paper introduces LiDAR‑SAM2, a framework that converts the 2D video foundation model SAM2 into a scalable source of supervision for 4D LiDAR data. By projecting SAM2 video masks into multi‑view LiDAR space and aggregating them temporally, the method automatically generates temporally coherent LiDAR labels without human annotation. Experiments on SemanticKITTI show that these automatically produced semantic and panoptic labels achieve quality close to full human annotation, enabling models trained on them to approach the performance of fully supervised systems.

M3GD: Multi-Modal Multi-View Geometric Diffusion for Camera--LiDAR Novel View Synthesis

M3GD introduces a multimodal representation that fuses pre‑trained 2D image and 3D LiDAR foundation models for robotic novel view synthesis, avoiding the need for a separate cross‑modal translator. By projecting LiDAR onto the image latent grid and injecting the resulting geometry‑aware packets via a lightweight residual adapter, the method enhances both RGB and depth synthesis on the GrandTour dataset compared to an image‑only baseline. Ablation studies confirm that pixel‑aligned LiDAR content drives the performance gains, and real‑world deployment on a ground robot demonstrates a tunable quality–cost trade‑off.
