ORMA is a training‑free framework that reconstructs articulated 4D representations of animals from monocular videos by decoupling pose and shape. It uses predicted pose as a reference for optimization and generative 3D priors to refine shape, aligning the result with the SMAL+ parametric model. The method combines per‑frame pose estimates with globally consistent camera poses, and further refines the reconstruction using self‑supervised DINO correspondences and temporal consistency, achieving improved accuracy on the new PAW4D benchmark and diverse real‑world videos.

SAM 3D Animal is a promptable framework that performs multi‑animal 3D reconstruction from a single image, using the SMAL+ parametric animal model. It jointly reconstructs multiple instances and allows flexible prompts such as keypoints and masks to better handle crowded and occluded scenes. The authors also introduce Herd3D, a new dataset of over 5,000 images that increases species, interaction, and occlusion diversity, and demonstrate state‑of‑the‑art performance on several benchmark datasets.

Kirin is a new framework that reconstructs 3D animal motion from in‑the‑wild videos, learns motion priors at scale, and generates realistic motion conditioned on text and image. It introduces AiM3D, the first large‑scale dataset of aligned video‑text‑motion tuples for quadruped animals, and uses an off‑the‑shelf image‑to‑3D model to automatically rig and animate 3D meshes with the generated motion. The framework and dataset provide a foundation for large‑scale, text and image‑conditioned animal motion generation and animation.

UniMo introduces a unified point‑cloud based framework for generating 3D motion that works for both humans and animals, overcoming challenges posed by diverse skeletal topologies and limited animal datasets. It converts parametric skeletons into unparametric representations and uses dynamic sampling to focus on active joints. The authors also release UniML3D, a large motion‑language dataset with 145,907 sequences and 433,388 captions, and demonstrate state‑of‑the‑art performance on multiple benchmarks.

SemGeo-Gen is an unsupervised approach that generates approximate cross‑instance semantic‑geometric correspondences from weakly aligned 3D object collections. It uses coarse category‑level rotation alignment, lifts multi‑view DINOv2 features to 3D, applies continuous piecewise‑affine registration, and prunes matches with semantic consistency to produce 3D correspondences that can be projected into 2D views for scalable supervision. The method achieves high accuracy against human annotations and improves state‑of‑the‑art semantic correspondence models after synthetic pretraining.

Animal pose estimation and tracking is important for wildlife monitoring and conservation research, and with limited expert time for labelling automated approaches are imperative. While human pose estimation and tracking has seen rapid progress thanks to large annotated datasets, animal pose remain challenging, due to large morphological and behavioural differences between species and limited annotated data.
TokenMatch is a transformer-based model that estimates 3D shape correspondences by adaptively tokenising meshes into curvature-guided patches. Trained only on the BeCoS partial-to-partial dataset, it generalises to full-shape matching without retraining, using self‑ and cross‑attention to learn patch‑ and point‑level relations. Evaluated on CP2P, PSMAL, BeCoS, FAUST, SCAPE, and SHREC'19, TokenMatch consistently outperforms existing methods in mean geodesic error and intersection‑over‑union while achieving sub‑second inference speeds.

The paper introduces a generalizable deformation learning framework that reconstructs 3D objects by deforming a category-level shape template to match a monocular observation. It employs a geometry-guided feature modeling mechanism to enrich foundation features with template topology, creating a geometry-aware representation that is explicitly correlated with the target observation for precise deformation. A view-adaptive feature aggregation module further bridges the gap between the fixed template and arbitrary target views by leveraging multi-view template features and camera poses, ensuring robust feature alignment across diverse viewpoints.
