PanoBench: A Panoptic Occupancy Prediction Benchmark for Autonomous Driving

PanoBench is a new camera‑centric benchmark for panoptic occupancy prediction that unifies 3D geometry, semantics, and instance identities across synthetic and real‑world driving scenes. It combines three datasets—PanoBench‑CarlaOcc, PanoBench‑nuScenes, and PanoBench‑KITTI360—through canonical interfaces and unified evaluation protocols, providing multi‑resolution annotations with persistent instance identities. The benchmark introduces a novel reconstruction pipeline for real‑world data, a unified valid‑mask protocol, and analyses of observation fidelity, geometric completeness, spatial continuity, and temporal consistency, while also benchmarking methods on semantic, panoptic, and 4D occupancy forecasting. whyItMatters":"PanoBench addresses the scarcity of instance‑aware annotations in panoptic occupancy research by offering comprehensive, high‑quality annotations and evaluation protocols that enable more robust development and comparison of autonomous driving perception methods."

Out-of-Distribution Semantic Occupancy Prediction

The paper introduces Out-of-Distribution Semantic Occupancy Prediction, a task that focuses on detecting unknown objects in 3D voxel space for autonomous driving. It proposes Realistic Anomaly Augmentation to create two new datasets, VAA-KITTI and VAA-KITTI-360, and presents the OccOoD framework, which uses Cross‑Space Semantic Refinement to improve OoD detection while maintaining semantic occupancy accuracy. Experiments show OccOoD achieves an AuROC of 65.50% and an AuPRCr of 31.83% within a 1.2 m radius, demonstrating strong generalization to real‑world urban scenes.

SplatLabel: Pseudo-Labelling through 4D Gaussian Splatting

SplatLabel is an automated pipeline that uses a 4D Gaussian representation to generate LiDAR segmentation and semantic occupancy grids with predictive confidence. It models dynamic scenes through an explicit temporal manifold, tracking moving actors without requiring pre‑annotated 3D bounding boxes. By integrating 360‑degree LiDAR depth maps and distilling soft probabilities from 2D models, it resolves semantic ambiguities over time and space, and evaluates pseudo‑labels via a selective classification framework that balances precision and recall.

O3N: Omnidirectional Open-Vocabulary Occupancy Prediction for Embodied Intelligent Robotics

O3N is a novel framework that performs open‑vocabulary occupancy prediction from a single omnidirectional RGB image. It introduces a polar‑spiral voxel embedding (PsM) for continuous 360° spatial representation, an Occupancy Cost Aggregation (OCA) module that unifies geometric and semantic supervision, and a Natural Modality Alignment (NMA) pathway that aligns visual, voxel, and text features. Experiments show state‑of‑the‑art results on QuadOcc and Human360Occ benchmarks, with strong cross‑scene generalization and semantic scalability.

HERMES++: Toward a Unified Driving World Model for 3D Scene Understanding and Generation

HERMES++ is a unified driving world model that simultaneously performs 3D scene understanding and future geometry prediction. It uses a BEV representation to merge multi‑view spatial data for LLM compatibility, introduces LLM‑enhanced world queries for knowledge transfer, and employs a Current‑to‑Future Link to condition future geometry on semantic context. A Joint Geometric Optimization strategy enforces structural integrity by combining explicit geometric constraints with implicit latent regularization, and extensive benchmark tests show that HERMES++ outperforms specialist methods in both point cloud prediction and scene understanding.
