NepOOC-M: Bilingual Nepali-English Benchmark and Comparative Analysis of Multimodal Architectures for OOC Detection

arXiv:2608. 19212v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Out-of-context (OOC) misinformation pairs authentic images with misleading captions to construct false narratives without image manipulation, making detection a problem of multimodal alignment rather than image forensics.

Wontopos Tablet 2: Measuring Multilingual and Multimodal Memory Retrieval Without Lexical Matching

The paper evaluates the tablet‑2 long‑term memory engine on multilingual text benchmarks and cross‑lingual photo retrieval without lexical matching. Tablet‑2 achieves high accuracy on LongMemEval‑S (95.7%) and moderate accuracy on BEAM‑1M (67.5%), with minimal variance across runs. In multimodal tests, it outperforms BM25 on image‑cell recall and shows significant language‑dependent performance gaps, especially for low‑resource languages.

When Simpler Is Better: Evaluating Translation Pipelines for Medieval Latin Manuscripts

arXiv:2607. 03836v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Despite remarkable progress in machine translation, Vision Language Models (VLMs) struggle on historical manuscripts, a domain that stresses core Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities: low-resource transliteration, archaic vocabulary, and noisy input signals.
