Context-Augmented, Session-Calibrated Blood Pressure Tracking from Photoplethysmography

The study evaluates how acquisition context and photoplethysmography (PPG) signals contribute to session‑calibrated blood pressure tracking using a wearable‑state model on 653 AuroraBP participants. Adding contextual information reduced mean absolute errors (MAEs) for systolic and diastolic BP by 0.436 mmHg and 0.126 mmHg, respectively, while PPG alone provided modest improvements. Exploratory follow‑ups with sensor‑history ensembles and pulse‑rate fusion yielded only slight gains, and a separate intraoperative model (VitalDB) showed limited PPG benefit.

Single-Beat Cuffless Blood Pressure Estimation Using Ear-PPG and ECG with a Lightweight Hybrid Learning Framework

arXiv:2607. 27076v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Continuous cuffless blood pressure (BP) monitoring remains challenging due to motion artifacts, physiological variability, and the limited robustness of conventional pulse transit time (PTT) models under dynamic conditions.

A Multidimensional Data-Driven Hybrid Transformer Framework for Non-invasive Continuous Blood Pressure Prediction

The paper presents a hybrid Transformer framework that estimates non‑invasive continuous blood pressure from ECG/PPG‑derived feature sequences. It models 10‑step sequences of six physiological descriptors and two demographic covariates, combining Transformer, Kolmogorov‑Arnold Network, and XGBoost modules, and uses a dynamic fusion decoder to predict diastolic and systolic BP. On a large MIMIC‑III dataset, the model achieved mean errors of 0.41 mmHg (diastolic) and –1.60 mmHg (systolic) with high accuracy within 10 mmHg for most predictions.

Property-Specific Recoverability from Contact PPG to Camera rPPG under Heterogeneous Observation Conditions

The study examined how well specific physiological properties of contact photoplethysmography (PPG) can be recovered when converted to camera-derived remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) across 655 recordings. Using the CHROM method, the authors found that while overall heart‑rate accuracy was modest, many dynamic properties (e.g., autocorrelation, spectral measures, Lyapunov exponents) showed little recording‑specific correspondence, and differences varied with skin tone and observation conditions. The results demonstrate that preserving individual recording characteristics depends on the property and conditions, and population‑level agreement does not guarantee individual‑level fidelity.

Property-Specific Recoverability from Contact PPG to Camera rPPG under Heterogeneous Observation Conditions

The study examined how well physiological properties from contact photoplethysmography (PPG) can be recovered by camera-based remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) across 655 recordings. Using the CHROM method, the authors found that while heart‑rate estimates showed modest accuracy, other dynamic measures such as autocorrelation, spectral content, and Lyapunov exponents largely failed to preserve recording‑specific characteristics. They also observed that lighting and motion influence endpoint accuracy, yet these factors did not explain the lack of dynamical correspondence.

BeatFlow-ECG: Rectified Flow for ECG Reconstruction from Indirect Wearable Signals

BeatFlow-ECG is a conditional rectified‑flow model that reconstructs single‑channel ECG signals from synchronized photoplethysmography (PPG) and inertial measurement unit (IMU) data. The architecture uses a convolutional encoder‑decoder with a transformer bottleneck and explicit flow‑time conditioning, incorporating motion information through IMU‑derived features, motion‑dependent loss weighting, and a curriculum learning strategy. Evaluated on PPG‑DaLiA and WESAD datasets with leave‑one‑subject‑out protocols, BeatFlow‑ECG outperforms deterministic, adversarial, and diffusion‑based baselines, achieving Pearson correlations of 0.983–0.986 and R‑peak F1 scores of 0.946–0.955, while reducing L1 error compared to Conditional DDPM‑1D.

SIFPBPNet: A Dual-Path Network for Wearable and Cuffless Blood Pressure Estimation via Individualized Steady-state Representation

SIFPBPNet is a dual‑path neural network designed for cuffless blood‑pressure estimation from photoplethysmography (PPG) signals. It separates steady‑state and instantaneous features through a Steady‑state Feature Path (SFP) that uses a Graph Attention Network to learn individual‑specific long‑term patterns, and an Instantaneous Feature Path (IFP) that captures short‑term dynamics and fuses them with the steady‑state prior via cross‑attention. On a large wearable dataset, the model achieves mean absolute errors of 8.57 mmHg for systolic and 5.97 mmHg for diastolic BP, outperforming existing methods and showing that the SFP module can be added to other backbones for 2.8–13.1 % MAE reduction.

PPG-Bench: A Unified Benchmark for PPG Foundation Models

PPG-Bench is an open‑source benchmark that evaluates five publicly available photoplethysmography (PPG) foundation models across nine datasets and 26 tasks, covering cardiovascular state estimation, activity, sleep, screening, and identification. The benchmark tests models under four downstream regimes—linear probing, random forests, frozen MLP probes, and end‑to‑end finetuning—while also comparing them to three controls: a random/constant baseline, a deterministic pulse‑rate‑variability feature set, and a generic time‑series foundation model (MOMENT). Results show that over a third of task‑regime combinations yield no advantage for any PPG foundation model over the baseline, and in most cases no PPG‑specific model outperforms the simple controls, indicating that current PPG foundation models lack generalised, transferable representations.

CardioFusion-AI: Robust ECG--PPG Fusion for Multimodal Physiological Monitoring Under Signal Degradation

CardioFusion-AI is a framework for robust fusion of ECG and PPG signals in wearable physiological monitoring. Its signal‑processing front end, featuring R‑peak and systolic‑peak detection, an Orphanidou‑type signal‑quality index, and beat‑by‑beat pulse transit time estimation, was validated on 53 intensive‑care recordings and a fetal ECG database. In a controlled synthetic degradation study, attention fusion achieved the lowest overall error, while adaptive gates reallocated weight toward the healthy modality under complete loss, and signal‑quality conditioning improved performance when PPG was missing.
