Pattern-recognition control promises a myoelectric prosthesis that responds to many intended gestures rather than one or two, but the promise has stayed in the laboratory. A recogniser trained on one person rarely transfers to the next, and useful performance usually demands a fresh round of labelled calibration from the end user.

Muscle activity is fundamental to human movement, and understanding its patterns is critical for injury prevention and rehabilitation. Conventional muscle activity monitoring relies on specialized sen...
Pose2Muscle is a pose-driven framework that estimates discrete muscle activity states without requiring surface electromyography (sEMG) during inference. It reformulates muscle estimation as a structured prediction problem, using multi-scale spatio-temporal attention and a directed acyclic graph-based decoder to capture motion patterns and maintain multiple candidate hypotheses. The authors introduce the PoseEMG-43 dataset, comprising 2,992 movement instances from 43 daily-life actions performed by 14 participants, and demonstrate that Pose2Muscle outperforms baseline methods with high accuracy and correlation metrics.

MyoFlow introduces a discriminative flow-matching framework for high‑density surface electromyography (HD‑sEMG) gesture recognition that addresses distribution shifts caused by electrode re‑donning and physiological variability. By using a domain‑conditioned rectified flow to transport encoded windows toward gesture anchors, the method enables zero‑shot prediction without a separate classifier head. On the Hyser dataset, MyoFlow outperforms the strongest diffusion‑based baseline by 4.24 % in cross‑session accuracy and 6.37 % in cross‑subject accuracy, and achieves 91.71 % mean zero‑shot accuracy and 97.39 % mean few‑shot accuracy on the CEMHSEY dataset.

The study investigates how well a single consumer earbud IMU can estimate 3D body pose and whether adding foot IMUs improves accuracy. Using a multimodal capture pipeline with RGB‑D video, an AirPods head IMU, and Striv insole IMUs, the authors benchmark pose estimation across various motions and train recurrent models (IMUPoser and MobilePoser). Results show that a head IMU alone achieves 79.0 mm rigid‑MPJPE and 0.809 macro‑F1 for foot contact, while adding foot IMUs does not significantly improve pose and can even degrade performance due to insole orientation errors.
