Real-Time Object Detection Meets DINOv3

Read the original on arXiv Computer Vision →

The paper introduces DEIMv2, a real‑time object detection framework that builds on the Dense O2O architecture and incorporates DINOv3 features. It offers eight model sizes—from X to Atto—suitable for GPU, edge, and mobile deployment, using DINOv3‑pretrained backbones with a Spatial Tuning Adapter for larger variants and HGNetv2 pruning for ultra‑lightweight models. DEIMv2 achieves state‑of‑the‑art performance across scales, with the largest model reaching 57.8 AP at 50.3 M parameters and the smallest model exceeding 50 AP with under 10 M parameters.

RT-DETRv4: Painlessly Furthering Real-Time Object Detection with Vision Foundation Models

RT-DETRv4 introduces a cost‑effective distillation framework that leverages Vision Foundation Models to improve lightweight real‑time object detectors. The method uses a Deep Semantic Injector to embed high‑level VFM representations into deep detector layers and a Gradient‑guided Adaptive Modulation strategy to adjust semantic transfer intensity based on gradient norms. These techniques yield consistent performance gains across DETR‑based models without adding inference overhead, achieving state‑of‑the‑art COCO AP scores at high FPS.

DIFTA-3D: Depth-Consistent Instance-Level Feature Transfer and Adaptation of DINOv3 for 3D Detection

The paper introduces DIFTA-3D, a method that replaces the task‑specific visual branch in IIFNet3D with a frozen DINOv3 foundation model for RGB‑D 3D instance detection. It employs a depth‑consistent feature pipeline that projects points into calibrated RGB‑D frames, filters features with a metric depth‑residual check, caches accepted DINOv3 features, and aggregates them within proposal‑aligned RoI grids. Extensive experiments on ScanNetV2 show that the DINOv3 control achieves mAP scores of 76.15/60.93 at IoU thresholds 0.25/0.50, while the Conservative VAID recipe improves these to 76.59/62.16, indicating a modest gain from the proposed transfer recipe.
