Vascular anatomy-aware self-supervised pre-training for X-ray angiogram analysis

The paper introduces VasoMIM, a vascular anatomy‑aware masked image modeling framework for X‑ray angiogram analysis, which uses an anatomy‑guided masking strategy and an anatomical consistency loss to learn robust vascular representations. It also presents XA‑170K, the largest pre‑training dataset for X‑ray angiograms. Experiments on six datasets and four downstream tasks show that VasoMIM outperforms existing methods and achieves state‑of‑the‑art performance.

Anatomy-Anchored Self-Supervision: Distilling Vision Foundation Models for Invariant Ultrasound Representation

arXiv:2605. 25402v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Self-supervised pre-training paradigm has gained increasing prominence for learning transferable representations in medical imaging, yet existing methods for ultrasound (US) images operate at the image or frame level, overlooking the anatomical context for clinical-aligned representation learning.

ReG-SAM: Reference Graph-Driven SAM for 2D Foundational Vessel Segmentation

ReG-SAM is a SAM-based framework designed for 2D vessel segmentation in medical images. It introduces reference graph prompt embeddings (GPEs) and vascular prototype embeddings (VPEs) to capture global spatial and fine-grained modality-specific vessel features, respectively. By building a modality-wise vascular database and learning these embeddings from reference masks, ReG-SAM consistently outperforms existing baselines across 19 datasets, especially on thin vessels.

VeCAS: Vessel-Focused Contrast-Free Angiogram Synthesis for Vascular Interventions

VeCAS is a two‑stage framework that generates contrast‑free X‑ray angiograms from non‑contrast images. Stage I localizes vascular structures using a discriminative model and cross‑modality latent distillation, while Stage II synthesizes angiographic appearance within those regions with a vessel‑focused inpainting model. Experiments on a lower‑limb vascular intervention dataset show that VeCAS improves vascular structural fidelity and image quality, and robotic guidewire navigation tests demonstrate significant reductions in time to target and operation steps.

Novel Methods for Catheter and Guidewire Segmentation in X-ray Fluoroscopy under a Federated Learning Setting

The paper introduces a structure‑aware federated learning framework for segmenting catheters and guidewires in X‑ray fluoroscopy. It presents a new benchmark dataset, CathAction, and a shape‑sensitive loss that improves segmentation accuracy. The approach extends to federated learning, adding projected gradient descent for adversarial optimization, and includes a diffusion‑based synthetic data generator that boosts performance under data scarcity.
