WaveSpec: Multi-Spectral Iris Presentation Attack Detection via Wavelength-Conditioned Spectral Coherence Adaptation

WaveSpec is a multispectral iris presentation attack detection framework that adapts features across near‑infrared wavelengths using a Set Conditioned Spectral Coherence Adapter. Each band is encoded with a DINOv2 backbone, then updated based on consensus, deviation, and wavelength identity before being projected into structural, spectral, and anomaly representations for classification. On the MSIrPAD benchmark, WaveSpec significantly lowers error rates, achieving an average D‑EER of 3.33% and BPCER@APCER=1% of 12.07% under a strict cross‑artefact protocol.

Compact Vision Models for Iris Presentation Attack Detection under Presentation Attack Instrument Shift and Environmental Degradation

The paper evaluates three compact computer‑vision models—each with about 0.26 million trainable parameters—for iris presentation attack detection (PAD) under conditions not seen during training, such as new presentation attack instruments (PAIs) and environmental degradation. The models are trained from scratch without external pretraining or data augmentation and tested on the Notre Dame subset of LivDet‑Iris 2017 across known‑attack, unknown‑attack, corrupted, and pooled partitions. Results show significant performance drops when moving from known to unknown attacks, with the best model, ZACH‑ViT, achieving the lowest unknown‑attack APCER (≈47.7 %) and D‑EER (≈38.9 %), yet overall errors remain high enough to preclude deployment readiness.

OCT-FedSIR: Toward Trustworthy Federated Ophthalmic Learning under Annotation Noise

OCT-FedSIR is a reliability‑aware spectral framework designed for federated learning of OCT image classification in the presence of client‑dependent annotation noise and heterogeneous data distributions. It integrates class‑balanced spectral estimation, logit adjustment, complementary spectral descriptors, selective spectral relabeling, and noise‑aware federated optimization. Across 117 experimental conditions on three datasets, OCT‑FedSIR achieved a mean accuracy of 86.73%, outperforming RoFL (79.94%) and FedCorr (78.75%) and successfully identifying and correcting corrupted annotations with high precision.

FoCal: Frequency-Oriented Cross-Modal Interaction and Spectral Calibration for Aerial Visible-Infrared Object Detection

FoCal is a new frequency‑oriented framework for aerial RGB–IR object detection that explicitly models cross‑modal interaction across different frequency components. It introduces a Frequency‑Aware Dual‑Domain Calibration module to consolidate low‑frequency structural cues while preserving high‑frequency modality‑specific details, and a Discrepancy‑Guided Spectral Modulation module that adaptively enhances, preserves, or attenuates the joint spectrum based on confidence‑weighted amplitude discrepancies. Experiments on DroneVehicle, ESCVehicle, and ATR‑UMOD show FoCal achieving high mAP scores (83.5%, 54.8%, 64.6%) with only 3.0 M parameters and 113.6 FPS, demonstrating a strong accuracy–efficiency trade‑off.

Cross-Spectral Feature Fusion for Multispectral Document Binarization

The paper proposes a multi‑branch conditional GAN that fuses visible, near‑infrared, and structural features for multispectral document binarization. By applying spatial‑ and channel‑wise softmax gating at encoder depth 3 and guiding the fusion with edge maps from selected VIS‑NIR band pairs, the authors evaluate nine configurations and find that the F3 + NIR edge‑guided model achieves the best performance, improving F1, p‑FM, and IoU over a fixed‑average baseline with statistically significant gains. The study demonstrates that targeted cross‑spectral structural guidance can effectively regulate intermediate fusion and enhance foreground‑overlap accuracy while preserving all four spectral bands.

Lowering the Barrier to IREX Participation: Open-Source Algorithms, Toolkit, and Benchmarking for Iris Recognition

arXiv:2605. 20735v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: NIST Iris Exchange (IREX) offers an appealing solution to evaluating new open-source iris recognition algorithms, but it presents high barriers to entry because these algorithms must be written in C++, using a specific API, and adapted to meet strict IREX speed and memory constraints.

MM-Spectrum: Multimodal Multi-spectral Molecular Structural Elucidation with a Stable MoE Framework

MM‑Spectrum is a sparse Mixture‑of‑Experts framework designed to infer molecular structures from multimodal spectroscopic data. It introduces a modality‑aware routing mechanism that exposes spectral identity to the router, along with shared and interaction experts of heterogeneous capacities to capture both modality‑unique and cross‑modal synergistic information while reducing noise interference. Experiments across full‑modality, bimodal, and missing‑modality scenarios show consistent and substantial performance gains, supported by ablation studies and interpretability analyses.
