Aligning Misaligned Benchmarks for Single-View Novel View Synthesis

The paper addresses the lack of standardized evaluation for single‑view novel view synthesis by highlighting the importance of aligning a method’s reference frame with the ground‑truth camera pose. It proposes using traditional 2D‑to‑2D and 2D‑to‑3D image matching to align 3D reconstructions and restricts evaluation to co‑visible regions where a correct ground truth exists. Experiments show that with proper alignment, 3D Gaussian‑based methods reach state‑of‑the‑art performance, and a simple baseline using a video generator and geometry estimator matches specialized novel‑view synthesis models without task‑specific training.

Benchmarking Efficient & Effective Camera Pose Estimation Strategies for Novel View Synthesis

The paper introduces a benchmark for evaluating Structure-from-Motion (SfM) methods used in novel view synthesis (NVS) such as NeRFs and 3DGS. It compares classical SfM, which relies on local feature matches and bundle adjustment, with recent neural network approaches that regress camera parameters directly for faster but less accurate results. The study finds that reducing feature counts speeds up classical SfM without sacrificing pose accuracy, and that combining neural network initial estimates with classical refinement yields the best balance of efficiency and effectiveness.

GenIA: Generative Reconstruction with Test-Time Input Alignment

GenIA is a framework that aligns generative 3D foundation models with test‑time observations, improving pose estimation and reconstruction from monocular, multi‑view, and dynamic inputs. It derives translation and scale from geometry, retains learned rotation priors, and aligns appearance using visibility‑biased attention, cross‑observation fusion, and differentiable rendering guidance during denoising. An optional post‑denoising refinement further adapts appearance latents and object placement, and the method also supports externally supplied geometry for dynamic objects, achieving better results than recent optimization‑based and image‑to‑3D methods on synthetic and real benchmarks.

PIVOT: A Multi-Trajectory Dataset and Testbed for Pose, Intrinsics, and Novel Viewpoint Evaluation in Real-World 3D Reconstruction

PIVOT is a new multi‑trajectory dataset and evaluation framework that captures real‑world scenes with diverse camera paths, preserving both sensor‑derived measured poses and COLMAP‑optimized poses along with calibrated and optimized intrinsics. It defines three benchmark families—seen vs. unseen trajectory generalization, measured vs. optimized pose sensitivity, and calibrated vs. optimized intrinsics sensitivity—and introduces a directed pose‑space Chamfer distance to assess pose coverage. The first version of PIVOT includes five scenes recorded with a DJI Mini 4 Pro and offers an open processing and Nerfstudio‑based evaluation toolchain, revealing a consistent quality gap between held‑out and unseen trajectories and significant sensitivity to pose source and camera intrinsics.

CasDeblurGS: Cascaded 2D-to-3D Multi-View Consistency for 3D Gaussian Splatting from Two Blurry Images

Free-viewpoint 3D scene media is increasingly important for immersive applications, yet practical capture often suffers from severe view sparsity and motion blur. Although neural rendering has advanced sparse-view synthesis, existing blur-aware methods typically require substantial multi-view redundancy, accurate camera poses, or costly per-scene optimization.

VoxelTTO: Voxel-Aligned Feed-Forward 3D Gaussian Splatting with Test-Time Optimization

VoxelTTO is a feed‑forward framework that reconstructs 3D Gaussian splatting scenes from multiple images by aggregating dense image features into a global voxel representation and decoding Gaussians from voxel features, thereby eliminating the pixel‑to‑Gaussian correspondence. It incorporates test‑time optimization with lightweight LoRA modules to adapt to known camera parameters while keeping the pretrained visual foundation model frozen. The method replaces standard rasterization with stochastic solid volume rendering, improving geometric fidelity, and demonstrates superior RGB‑D novel‑view synthesis and camera‑pose estimation on Replica, Tanks and Temples, and DTU datasets.

Self-Geometry: GT-Free and Plug-and-Play Test-Time Adaptation for Geometrically Consistent 3D Vision Foundation Models

The paper introduces Self-Geometry, a plug‑and‑play test‑time adaptation framework that enforces explicit multi‑view geometric constraints on Vision Foundation Models (VFMs) using 2D pixel correspondences as pseudo ground truth. It combines Geometric Disentanglement Optimization—mixing Multi‑View and Epipolar Consistency losses with Gradient Disentanglement—to avoid gradient conflicts, a Frame Angular‑Neighbor sampler based on SO(3) geodesic distances to select informative views, and a Lightweight TTA module that adapts VFMs via LoRA. Experiments on six VFMs and four benchmarks (7Scenes, ETH3D, ScanNet++, HiRoom) show consistent improvements in pose and geometry estimation.

LVSPM: Long Sequence View Synthesis and Pose Estimation Model

LVSPM is a generalizable model that jointly estimates camera poses and synthesizes novel views from uncalibrated image collections. It is trained only with RGB images and pose supervision, avoiding dense 3D ground truth, and uses test‑time training layers to scale to hundreds of input views. On datasets such as RealEstate10k, Co3Dv2, and DL3DV, LVSPM outperforms VGGT in pose estimation across 16–256 views and achieves state‑of‑the‑art pose‑free novel view synthesis quality, maintaining high performance even as scene scale increases.
