The paper introduces Endpoint-Constrained Optimization (ECO), a lightweight postprocessing layer that corrects intermediate waypoints of end-to-end driving policies while preserving the predicted endpoint. ECO does not require maps, privileged simulator state, or additional training, and can be applied to a wide range of waypoint-emitting policies. Experiments on two closed-loop simulators show that ECO significantly improves closed-loop performance, achieving top results in the HUGSIM Closed-Loop Driving Challenge and boosting scene scores on AlpaSim.

arXiv:2607. 20549v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Trajectory datasets used in ADAS evaluation are heavily biased toward routine driving; genuine vehicle-to-vehicle conflict events are rare, and the rarer the event, the higher the cost when an ADAS system fails to handle it.

The paper presents a modeling and simulation framework to study reinforcement‑learning control of connected and automated vehicle (CAV) platoon joining maneuvers in mixed traffic. It evaluates Deep Q‑Network, Double Deep Q‑Network, and Proximal Policy Optimization algorithms, finding that PPO achieves a 98 % joining success rate with less than 1 % collisions by incorporating risk penalties, though it requires more decision steps. An external safety controller can prevent collisions but may reduce joining efficiency, highlighting a trade‑off between safety, effectiveness, and decision speed.
The paper introduces CoLT-Drive, a 3,536-sample counterfactual long‑tail benchmark for evaluating decision‑level driving affordance prediction, which tests whether models can infer how rare objects affect an ego vehicle’s high‑level actions. It also proposes KPA, a knowledge‑preserving adaptation framework that combines structured prompting, expert merging, and a regime‑aware LoRA mixture‑of‑experts module to improve small VLMs on driving tasks. Experiments show KPA achieves 60.8% pair accuracy on CoLT‑Drive, outperforming the Qwen3‑VL‑2B baseline and LoRA SFT while keeping competitive in‑domain performance.

The paper presents a modeling and simulation framework to study reinforcement learning (RL) control of connected and automated vehicle (CAV) platoon joining maneuvers in mixed traffic. Using SUMO and agent-based modeling, it evaluates Deep Q-Network (DQN), Double DQN (DDQN), and Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithms, finding that PPO achieves a 98 % joining success rate with less than 1 % collision rate by incorporating risk penalties. The study also shows a trade‑off between safety, joining effectiveness, and decision efficiency, and demonstrates that an external safety controller can prevent collisions but may reduce joining efficiency.

FedPGT introduces a progressive gradient transmission scheme for vehicular federated learning over time‑varying channels, where vehicles send high‑magnitude gradient entries according to instantaneous channel conditions. The authors derive a convergence bound showing diminishing returns governed by a power‑law decay, and formulate a stochastic optimization problem that is solved via a Lyapunov drift‑plus‑penalty approach with per‑slot surrogate variables. A low‑complexity resource allocation algorithm is proposed, and experiments on CIFAR‑10 and Argoverse demonstrate a 3.65% accuracy gain and a 12.66% reduction in displacement error compared to state‑of‑the‑art baselines.

The paper introduces FedQoS, an asynchronous federated learning framework designed for multimodal in‑cabin interaction in smart vehicles. It uses a two‑phase gating mechanism: a resource‑aware training gate that starts local learning only when sensing buffers and energy reserves meet safety thresholds, and a QoS‑aware transmission policy that gates uplink updates based on an efficiency score balancing model novelty, latency, and energy costs. Experiments on vehicular datasets show FedQoS achieves competitive personalized accuracy with only marginal loss compared to FedAvg, while reducing communication overhead by 76.7% and latency cost by 26.0%.
