FlowMoDL: Model-Based Deep Learning with Conjugate-Gradient Data Consistency for Highly Accelerated 4D Flow MRI Reconstruction

FlowMoDL is an unrolled neural network designed for highly accelerated 4D flow MRI reconstruction, optimizing both anatomical magnitude and phase-derived velocity accuracy. It alternates a learned (3+1)D spatiotemporal denoiser with conjugate‑gradient data‑consistency updates, using a dual‑pathway conditioning scheme to handle acceleration factors from 10× to 50×. Trained with a deep‑supervision composite loss that penalizes velocity magnitude and angular errors, FlowMoDL outperforms classical and deep‑learning baselines on the multi‑center CMRx4DFlow dataset, achieving superior gradient‑step efficiency and robust convergence across all acceleration factors.

Self-Supervised Cardiac Phase Detection via Single-Parameter Latent Orbits

The paper introduces a self‑supervised method for detecting end‑diastole (ED) and end‑systole (ES) in echocardiography by constraining the latent motion to a single‑parameter orbit, effectively modeling cardiac phase as a one‑dimensional signal. This approach yields an interpretable representation that directly identifies ED and ES, improving ED localisation and matching ES performance compared to prior state‑of‑the‑art methods, while using fewer training epochs and a more constrained model. The method is trained on EchoNet‑Dynamic without annotations and the code is publicly available.

Echo-E$^3$Net: Efficient Endocardial Spatio-Temporal Network for Ejection Fraction Estimation

Echo-E$^3$Net is an anatomy‑guided spatio‑temporal neural network designed to estimate left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) from ultrasound images. It uses a dual‑phase Endocardial Border Detector to locate end‑diastole and end‑systole landmarks and an Endocardial Feature Aggregator to fuse these landmarks with global deep‑feature descriptors for EF regression. The model achieves competitive accuracy on EchoNet‑Dynamic and EchoNet‑Pediatric datasets while using only 1.55 M parameters and 8.05 GFLOPs, enabling real‑time deployment on limited‑resource devices.

Segmentation of the aorta in 4D flow MRI using 4D convolutional kernels and learning from sparse annotations

The study presents a fully automated 4D U‑Net that segments the ascending aorta, arch, and proximal descending aorta in 4D flow MRI using a hybrid 4D convolutional kernel and sparse 4D labels derived from 2D expert contours and centerlines. Trained on 268 scans from eight centers, the model achieved high Dice scores (0.927 internal, 0.911 external) and excellent agreement with expert measurements of peak velocity, net flow, wall shear stress, and diameters (ICC ≥0.954 internal, ≥0.980 external). Compared to frame‑wise 3D networks and semi‑automatic methods, the 4D U‑Net outperformed in diastole and generalised well to independent post‑contrast data.

X-LMC: Cross-View Spatiotemporal Collateral Circulation Scoring from DSA

X‑LMC is a spatiotemporal deep‑learning framework that automatically scores leptomeningeal collateral (LMC) status from time‑resolved biplane digital subtraction angiography (DSA). It uses a DINOv2 backbone to encode spatial frames, a token‑level cross‑view attention module to fuse orthogonal projections, and a recurrent network to model contrast bolus dynamics. On a multicenter dataset of 134 M1‑segment occlusion patients, X‑LMC achieved a Quadratic Weighted Kappa of 0.398 and a macro‑F1 of 0.711, outperforming static and other spatiotemporal baselines and matching clinical inter‑rater agreement.
