ControlFlow3D is a framework that upsamples point clouds by distilling knowledge from pretrained foundation models into a lightweight generation network. It performs conditional flow matching in a latent space defined by a frozen 3D encoder, using unsupervised soft KMeans to cluster multi‑view image tokens and 3D latent tokens into shared prototypes that guide the flow trajectory. A Mamba‑based geometry decoder then maps latent features to dense coordinates with linear complexity, and the authors introduce ShapeNetPU, a 35K‑object multi‑modal benchmark 31 times larger than previous datasets.
Point Diffusion Mamba (PDM) is a new method that fuses diffusion models with state‑space modeling to perform single‑view 3D reconstruction when training data are scarce. It uses a lightweight reconstruction module for unordered point‑clouds, a Local Geometric Aggregation module combined with Mamba blocks to capture both global geometry and local detail, and a Hierarchical Feature Integration Network to merge high‑level semantic and local geometric features for each point. A Dynamic Weighted Sampling strategy further improves reconstruction quality by integrating generative priors, and experiments on ShapeNet and Pix3D show that PDM outperforms existing state‑of‑the‑art approaches.
Geometric foundation models, such as the Visual Geometry Grounded Transformer (VGGT), provide strong 3D priors from unposed images. However, such models operate purely in a feed-forward, deterministic regime, \ie~they cannot generate plausible geometry beyond what the input views directly support.
arXiv:2605. 17131v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Point cloud stands as the most widely adopted format for representing 3D shapes and scenes due to its simplicity and geometric fidelity.
Geometry is invariant to viewpoint, which makes any collection of images a redundant encoding of a single 3D state. Existing feed-forward reconstruction models fail to exploit this: per-view methods emit overlapping, unaligned pointmaps that grow linearly with input count, while global-latent methods commit to a fixed, low-resolution output.
LitePT introduces a lighter yet stronger 3D point cloud backbone that strategically uses convolutional layers in early, high‑resolution stages and switches to attention in deeper, low‑resolution layers. By adding a novel, parameter‑free 3D positional encoding called PointROPE, LitePT preserves spatial layout while reducing redundancy. The resulting model has 3.6× fewer parameters, runs twice as fast, and uses half the memory of the state‑of‑the‑art Point Transformer V3, yet matches or surpasses its performance across multiple tasks and datasets.
