SenseShift6D: Multimodal RGB-D Benchmarking for Robust 6D Pose Estimation across Environment and Sensor Variations

SenseShift6D is a new RGB‑D benchmark that systematically varies 13 RGB exposures, 9 RGB gains, auto‑exposure, 4 depth‑capture modes, and 5 illumination levels for six household objects, producing 795.4k RGB‑D scenes. Experiments show that state‑of‑the‑art pose estimators, even when pretrained on large datasets, exhibit significant performance drops across different sensor and lighting settings, revealing a strong sensitivity to environmental changes. The benchmark also demonstrates that test‑time sensor selection can improve accuracy, but current practical methods offer limited gains, indicating room for research in sensor‑aware adaptation.

RYOPO: Bringing End-to-End Category-Level Object Pose Estimation into Real Time

RYOPO is an end‑to‑end query‑based RGB‑D set predictor that jointly detects, segments, and estimates 9‑DoF poses of unseen instances within known categories without relying on external instance segmentation or CAD priors. It uses shared image and scene encoding, a query‑conditioned geometry pathway, and object‑centric refinement with pose‑conditioned cross‑attention to achieve accurate pose estimation. On benchmark datasets such as NOCS, REAL275, and HouseCat6D, RYOPO outperforms published methods and runs in real time at 31.8 FPS on an RTX A6000.

When Depth Lies: Benchmarking Vision-Language Models on Mirror-Induced RGB-D Ambiguity

The paper introduces MIRA-Bench, a mirror‑centric RGB‑D dataset and benchmark designed to test vision‑language models (VLMs) in reflective scenes where depth information is misleading. It contains 1,011 RGB‑D images from 525 real‑world scenes, annotated with reflective surface masks and object labels for both direct and reflected views, and 14,140 QA pairs across eight sub‑tasks. Evaluation shows that state‑of‑the‑art VLMs consistently fail to distinguish real from reflected objects, misalign reflected instances with their real counterparts, and produce incorrect spatial inferences, with depth data even degrading performance. whyItMatters":"The study reveals that current VLMs cannot handle mirror‑induced depth ambiguity, highlighting a critical limitation in spatial reasoning for real‑world applications involving reflective surfaces."

G6D: Geometric Learning-Free RGB-D 6D Pose Solver for Robotic Manipulation

G6D is a learning‑free, geometry‑driven RGB‑D 6D pose solver designed for robotic manipulation. It generates pose hypotheses via template‑based geometric matching and refines them using silhouette and depth consistency, requiring only an RGB‑D observation, an object mask, camera intrinsics, and a CAD model. The method offers adjustable accuracy‑computation trade‑offs, can run on CPU without GPUs, and has shown strong performance on LineMOD and BOP19 datasets, as well as in real‑world pick‑and‑place experiments.

F2G-Pose: Geometry-Aware Foundation Feature Lifting for Direct RGB-D Category-Level Object Pose Estimation

F2G-Pose is a real‑time, single‑pass framework for category‑level RGB‑D object pose estimation that predicts 3D rotation, translation, metric size, and a completed camera‑frame shape from a single RGB‑D observation. It lifts dense visual foundation features to partial point clouds, encodes local geometry with DGCNN tokenization, and uses a Mixture‑of‑Experts Transformer to integrate object‑level structure. Trained only on pose‑annotated synthetic SOPE data and leveraging a frozen RADIO backbone, F2G‑Pose achieves state‑of‑the‑art accuracy on SOPE and ROPE while running at 28 FPS for pose‑only inference and demonstrates strong geometry completion on HouseCat6D and real‑object transfer on HANDAL.

Moving6DPoSe: A Multimodal Database for Monocular 6D Pose Estimation and Segmentation of Moving Objects

Moving6DPoSe is a multimodal database for monocular 6D pose estimation and segmentation of moving objects, comprising two subsets: real-world recordings (Moving6DPoSe‑R) and synthetic sequences (Moving6DPoSe‑S). It includes 16 scanned objects, 1,702 real and synthetic rosbags, and annotations for semantic segmentation, object detection, and monocular 6D pose estimation. Baseline results show that event-based representations outperform conventional RGB images for moving‑object segmentation, while monocular orientation estimation remains challenging.

Con-DSO: Learning Short-Horizon Consistency Priors for RGB-D Direct Sparse Odometry

Con-DSO introduces a consistency-aware RGB‑D direct sparse odometry framework that learns pixel‑level photometric and geometric uncertainty from adjacent RGB‑D frame pairs. The network predicts uncertainties that are converted into pairwise quality scores, guiding support‑pixel selection and forming a host‑side quality prior for keyframe tracking. Experiments on five public benchmarks show that this approach reduces absolute trajectory error by over 20% on ICL‑NUIM and by 50–80% on other datasets, improving robustness in challenging environments.

SituHOI: Scalable Capture of Scene-Situated Full-Body Human-Object Interaction

SituHOI is a large‑scale RGB‑D dataset that captures full‑body human‑object interactions in 16 indoor rooms, comprising 18,429 annotated clips and about 86 hours of activity. The dataset pairs moving‑camera recordings with static scene scans, object geometry, language descriptions, and estimated human and object trajectories, all registered in a shared floor‑aligned frame via a pipeline that integrates camera localization, depth‑based alignment, human mesh recovery, and object tracking. The data enable the FlexHOI‑Bench benchmark for goal‑conditioned joint motion prediction, and a reference predictor, SharedHOI, demonstrates strong performance on world‑space accuracy and human‑object coordination. whyItMatters":"The dataset provides scalable, scene‑aligned supervision for modeling human‑object interaction, addressing a key limitation of existing datasets and enabling more accurate motion prediction benchmarks."

PointVGGT: Zero-Shot Multiview RGB-D Point Cloud Registration with Visual Geometry Foundation Priors

The paper introduces PointVGGT, a zero‑shot framework for multiview RGB‑D point cloud registration that replaces the traditional pairwise‑then‑global pipeline. It employs a foundation‑then‑refinement paradigm, using visual geometry foundation models to directly recover metrically consistent global poses and then refining them with voxelized spatial hashing and IRLS‑based bundle adjustment. Experiments on indoor, object‑centric, and outdoor datasets demonstrate superior registration accuracy and computational efficiency without any training.
