CLIDD: Cross-Layer Independent Deformable Description for Efficient and Discriminative Local Feature Representation

CLIDD (Cross-Layer Independent Deformable Description) is a local feature representation method that samples directly from independent feature hierarchies using learnable offsets, avoiding the construction of a dense feature map and thus reducing memory and computation overhead. The approach breaks interpolation-induced correlation through per-keypoint per-layer offsets, preserving discriminability even at high keypoint densities. A hardware-aware kernel fusion strategy and a scalable training framework that combine metric learning and knowledge distillation enable real-time performance, achieving superior matching accuracy and exceeding 200 FPS on edge devices.

GenCOPE: Syn2Real Generalized Category-Level Object Pose Estimation for Robotic Picking

GenCOPE introduces a synthetic-to-real (Syn2Real) approach for category-level object pose estimation (COPE) that eliminates the need for labor-intensive real-world data collection. By learning domain-invariant representations through 2D and 3D semantic consistency constraints and employing an end-to-end pose regression framework with 2D-3D cross consistency, the model achieves robust generalization across synthetic and real domains. The architecture relies solely on global features, resulting in a lightweight and efficient design validated on REAL275, Wild6D, and real-world robotic manipulation scenes.

REDI-Match: Rotation-Equivariant Distillation for Efficient and Robust Dense Matching

Vision Foundation Models (VFMs) have significantly advanced dense feature matching, yet severe in-plane rotation remains a critical challenge. Existing solutions face a fundamental dilemma: data-driven methods require inefficient parameter scaling to implicitly learn rotations, whereas strictly equivariant networks lack the semantic capacity of modern VFMs.

DXPR: Depth-Based Vision-LiDAR Cross-Modal Place Recognition Using Vision Foundation Models

DXPR is a depth‑based cross‑modal place recognition framework that matches monocular camera queries to a LiDAR map using a single vision foundation model backbone. By converting both modalities into a unified depth image representation, DXPR learns modality‑invariant global descriptors without modality‑specific encoders. A geometry‑aware overlap miner refines pairwise metric learning by computing pixel‑level overlap scores, and extensive tests on KITTI and Boreas show strong performance across seasons, weather, and day/night conditions, outperforming prior CMPR baselines.

MetricAnything: Scaling Metric Depth Pretraining with Noisy Heterogeneous Sources

arXiv:2601. 22054v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Scaling has powered recent advances in vision foundation models, yet extending this paradigm to metric depth estimation remains challenging due to heterogeneous sensor noise, camera-dependent biases, and metric ambiguity in noisy cross-source 3D data.
