OrbiSim: World Models as Differentiable Physics Engines for Embodied Intelligence

OrbiSim is a new robotic simulation paradigm that treats world models as a fully differentiable physics engine for embodied intelligence. It integrates structured scene assets, neural dynamics, and reinforcement learning into a single, physically grounded, end‑to‑end differentiable pipeline. The approach enables tasks such as differentiable contact modeling, gradient‑based policy optimization with sparse rewards, and intuitive physical inference, and it outperforms state‑of‑the‑art world models in predictive fidelity and control performance.

Coupled Local and Global World Models for Efficient First Order RL

arXiv:2602. 06219v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: World models offer a promising avenue for more faithfully capturing complex dynamics, including contacts and non-rigidity, as well as complex sensory information, such as visual perception, in situations where standard simulators struggle.

A Comprehensive Review of Generative Physical Artificial Intelligence

The paper surveys Generative Physical Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), a field where large foundation models are integrated with physical robots. It introduces a taxonomy of five approaches—Robot Foundation Models, Vision‑Language Action models, Large Behavior Models, Diffusion Policy Models, and World Foundation Models—and discusses how they complement each other across domains such as autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, healthcare robotics, and humanoid systems. The review highlights performance gains, data‑efficient learning, sim‑to‑real transfer, edge‑compatible architectures, and safety frameworks as key research directions.

WoVR: World Models as Reliable Simulators for Post-Training VLA Policies with RL

arXiv:2602. 13977v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Reinforcement learning (RL) promises to unlock capabilities beyond imitation learning for Vision--Language--Action (VLA) models, but its requirement for massive real-world interaction prevents direct deployment on physical robots.

LeWAM: End-to-End World and Action Modeling with JEPAs

LeWAM is an end‑to‑end joint‑embedding predictive architecture that learns compact latent world models without pixel reconstruction and directly supports policy execution and planning. It trains jointly on next‑latent‑state prediction and action‑flow matching while imposing an isotropic Gaussian constraint on the latent state. The approach yields significant performance gains, raising visual‑planning success rates from 28.6 % to 89.7 % on contact‑rich tasks, from 10.9 % to 46.2 % on long‑horizon tasks, and speeding up planning by 32.3×, while remaining competitive on behavior‑cloning tasks and providing interpretable control‑relevant representations.
