arXiv:2608. 14656v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Photoplethysmography (PPG) is widely used in consumer wearables because of its low cost and ease of acquisition.
arXiv:2606. 07365v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Photoplethysmography (PPG), a non-invasive measure of changes in blood volume, is widely used in both wearable devices and clinical settings.
PPG-Bench is an open‑source benchmark that evaluates five publicly available photoplethysmography (PPG) foundation models across nine datasets and 26 tasks, covering cardiovascular state estimation, activity, sleep, screening, and identification. The benchmark tests models under four downstream regimes—linear probing, random forests, frozen MLP probes, and end‑to‑end finetuning—while also comparing them to three controls: a random/constant baseline, a deterministic pulse‑rate‑variability feature set, and a generic time‑series foundation model (MOMENT). Results show that over a third of task‑regime combinations yield no advantage for any PPG foundation model over the baseline, and in most cases no PPG‑specific model outperforms the simple controls, indicating that current PPG foundation models lack generalised, transferable representations.
arXiv:2608. 00943v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Automated sleep staging assigns discrete stage labels to successive time epochs throughout an overnight recording; conventionally each window spans at least 30 seconds, reflecting the minimum temporal resolution of the clinical scoring standard.
arXiv:2602. 04266v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Aortic valve disease (AVD) represents a major public health burden, while its diagnosis relies on echocardiography, which is limited by cost and specialist expertise, restricting scalable screening and risk stratification.
arXiv:2510. 09764v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Modeling multi-modal time-series data is critical for capturing system-level dynamics, particularly in biosignals where modalities such as ECG, PPG, EDA, and accelerometry provide complementary perspectives on interconnected physiological processes.
arXiv:2610.33788v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Photoplethysmography (PPG) plays a central role in wearable health monitoring and clinical decision support. However, existing approaches to universal...
arXiv:2608. 05893v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Electrocardiography (ECG) is one of the most widely used non-invasive tools for diagnosing cardiovascular disease, but transforming multi-lead ECG recordings into reliable clinical reports remains challenging.
FOCAL is a framework that aligns fine-grained ECG waveform segments with specific report tags using Optimal Transport, addressing the lack of localized representation in prior methods. It introduces a semantic similarity matrix to mitigate false negatives when reports share diagnoses, and a coarse‑to‑fine enrichment pipeline that employs Large Language Models to recover missing waveform semantics while filtering hallucinations. Experiments on six datasets show FOCAL achieves state‑of‑the‑art zero‑shot prediction and linear probing performance.
arXiv:2608. 12695v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Self-supervised electrocardiogram (ECG) models are often trained on a few seconds of ECG signal and, increasingly, on discretized token sequences.
arXiv:2607. 09749v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Foundation models have recently emerged as a powerful paradigm for learning transferable representations from large scale biomedical data, yet existing approaches for physiological waveforms primarily optimize reconstruction or forecasting objectives that do not explicitly preserve clinically meaningful waveform morphology.
