Mobile infrared-visible imaging typically pairs a compact infrared sensor with a high-resolution visible camera for complementary perception. While cross-sensor misalignment caused by different optics, viewpoints, fields of view, and exposure timings hinders practical deployment.
The paper introduces Contrastive‑SDXL, a day‑to‑night augmentation framework that uses SDXL‑Turbo and Low‑Rank Adaptation to generate realistic night‑time images for pedestrian detection. It employs a patch‑wise semantic contrastive loss guided by a pretrained DINOv2 encoder and an object consistency loss to preserve pedestrian and local semantic structure during translation, achieving a FID of 22.5. Detectors trained on these synthetic images show a 6‑7% reduction in miss rate compared to a daytime‑only baseline, approaching the performance of models trained on real night‑time data.

XCalib is an unsupervised dense registration framework that aligns thermal and visible video streams by optimizing virtual pinhole camera parameters and predicted monocular depth, thereby restricting spatial displacements to physically valid projection geometries. It introduces a novel registration paradigm using camera parameterization as an implicit regularizer, a robust Normalized Edges Correlation (NEC) metric for cross‑spectral alignment, and demonstrates superior temporal stability and alignment accuracy on public ADAS datasets compared to unconstrained dense flow baselines.

The paper introduces FlexibleFusion, a method for infrared-visible object detection that adapts to both complete and missing-modality scenarios. It employs a Modality-Aware Experts Collaboration mechanism to selectively fuse cross-modal or intra-modal pathways, and a Residual Self-Paced Entropic Optimal Transport module to align heterogeneous feature distributions without heavy optimization. Experiments demonstrate consistent performance across various modality configurations.

TriSAR-3D is a new trimodal dataset combining high‑resolution LiDAR, RGB, and thermal imagery to capture people in varied indoor and outdoor poses, including lying and partially occluded positions. The authors propose PaintFusion, a lightweight trimodal 3D detection pipeline that fuses PointPainting evidence with an MLP, achieving 65.4 AP@50 and outperforming LiDAR‑only, RGB+LiDAR, and other trimodal baselines while running faster (51.6 ms per frame). Experiments show that removing lying instances from training drastically reduces detection performance, highlighting the importance of dataset diversity for robust 3D person detection in search and rescue scenarios.

FedCKA introduces a Centered Kernel Alignment (CKA)-based method for federated 3D perception that dynamically balances personalization and globalization. By computing layer-wise feature similarities between local client models and a global consensus model, FedCKA generates client‑specific aggregation masks to selectively share representation‑consistent layers. Experiments on a unified multi‑domain nuScenes benchmark demonstrate that FedCKA surpasses established federated baselines, improving average NDS by 7 percentage points.

UniMergeTrack introduces a hierarchical model merging strategy for RGB-X visual object tracking, combining independently trained modality-specific trackers into a unified framework. The method merges transferable backbones using high‑pass‑filtered merging, aligns tracking heads with optimal transport‑guided channel alignment, and fine‑tunes with distribution alignment to integrate cross‑task knowledge while preserving modality cues. Experiments on multiple benchmarks show state‑of‑the‑art or competitive performance across RGB‑Thermal, RGB‑Event, and RGB‑Depth tracking tasks, with strong generalization to unseen datasets.
