DEG: Diffusion-Enhanced GFlowNet for Solving Vehicle Routing Problems

The paper introduces Diffusion-Enhanced GFlowNet (DEG), a framework that combines Generative Flow Networks with diffusion models to improve vehicle routing problem solutions. DEG uses GFlowNet to generate edge-level signals, perturbs them with diffusion noise, and denoises them to expand flow into high-reward regions, thereby increasing solution diversity. A scalable decoder is added, and experiments on synthetic and real datasets—including up to 10,000-node instances—show DEG outperforms baseline methods.

Trajectory balance: Improved credit assignment in GFlowNets

The paper introduces a new learning objective called trajectory balance for Generative Flow Networks (GFlowNets), aiming to improve credit assignment across long action sequences. It demonstrates that minimizing this objective yields a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution. Experiments on four domains show that trajectory balance enhances convergence, sample diversity, and robustness to long sequences and large action spaces.

Partial GFlowNet: Accelerating Convergence in Large State Spaces via Strategic Partitioning

The paper introduces Partial GFlowNet, a method that partitions a large state space into overlapping partial state spaces to accelerate convergence of Generative Flow Networks. By restricting the actor’s exploration to these smaller regions and using a heuristic to switch between them, the approach enables efficient identification of high‑reward subregions. Experiments on popular datasets show that Partial GFlowNet converges faster, produces higher‑reward candidates, and improves diversity compared to existing methods.

Rethinking the design space of Vanilla Pixel Diffusion Transformers

The paper revisits pixel-space diffusion models, showing that a vanilla diffusion transformer can generate directly in pixel space by swapping velocity prediction for clean image prediction. It introduces MFlow, an adaptive parameterization that interpolates between these two prediction modes based on data representation and model capacity, and demonstrates competitive performance on ImageNet, UCF‑101, and text‑to‑image tasks. Additionally, the authors add ConvRefiner, a lightweight convolutional module trained post‑hoc to restore high‑frequency details while preserving FID.
