WireSeg-32K: A Physics-Grounded Synthetic Dataset for Wire Instance Segmentation

Read the original on arXiv Computer Vision →

WireSeg-32K is a new synthetic dataset designed for wire instance segmentation, comprising 32,000 RGB images, instance masks, depth maps, and a complementary real-world test set with annotations. The dataset is generated using DeformX, a co-simulation pipeline that couples Cosserat-rod dynamics with photorealistic Isaac Sim rendering to produce physically plausible, contact-consistent wire shapes and diverse scenes. Fine-tuning SAM3 with LoRA on WireSeg-32K improves real-world mAP@75 by 10.2% compared to the off-the-shelf model, demonstrating the transferability of physically grounded synthetic data.

Grounded-Exo2Ego: Structured Semantic Grounding for Robust Exocentric-to-Egocentric Video Generation

Grounded-Exo2Ego introduces a dual‑branch video diffusion model that combines a geometric anchoring branch with a semantic grounding branch to generate egocentric video from a single exocentric source. The framework also includes a camera re‑localization algorithm to correct reconstruction misalignment and a fully automated synthetic data engine for training. Experiments on the EgoExo4D dataset demonstrate significant performance gains over recent state‑of‑the‑art methods.

PointGauss: Point Cloud-Guided Multi-Object Segmentation for Gaussian Splatting

PointGauss is a 3D-native framework that performs semantic parsing and instance segmentation on 3D Gaussian splatting representations by treating Gaussian primitives as unstructured point sets and extracting scale‑invariant geometric features with Point Transformer V3. It introduces an adaptive region‑of‑interest cropping strategy and an instance‑aware distance‑constrained rasterization pipeline to enable scalable, view‑consistent pixel‑level projections. The authors also release SplatSeg‑360, a cross‑scale benchmark with 32 complex scenes and over 6,300 aligned 2D‑3D masks, and show that PointGauss achieves real‑time performance with state‑of‑the‑art 3D‑mIoU (~90%) and 2D‑mIoU (~80%) scores.
