HiWE: Hierarchical World Knowledge Model with Visual Keypoint Enhancement for Zero-Shot 3D Path Planning

Read the original on arXiv AI →

HiWE is a hierarchical world knowledge model that enables zero‑shot 3D path planning by linking visual grounding with language‑based planning through a point‑based interface. It uses PointVLM to map task‑relevant objects to image coordinates, lifts these predictions into a semantic 3D representation with depth data, and then a language planner (3DLLM) generates end‑effector waypoints and gripper commands. The system is evaluated on 14 simulated manipulation tasks and four physical‑robot tasks, with ablations on visual training data, spatial inputs, and grasp selection.

KnowDemo: Knowledge-Guided Robot Demonstration Generation from Human Videos

KnowDemo is a framework that generates diverse robot demonstrations from human videos by leveraging structured manipulation knowledge. It uses a vision‑language model to extract task requirements and permissible execution variations, then resolves these against target‑scene entities to guide candidate generation and screening before motion planning. The resulting demonstrations feature multimodal behavior, alternative contact strategies, and valid subtask orders, and have been shown to improve planning success and enable sim‑to‑real policy transfer across three tasks.

AntiGrounding: Executable Robot Trajectories as Visual Prompts for VLM-Guided Manipulation

AntiGrounding is a visual action-selection framework that turns short robot trajectories into both executable motion plans and rendered prompts for vision‑language model evaluation. After filtering for feasibility, each trajectory is scored on safety, task alignment, efficiency, and physical plausibility using structured multi‑view visual question answering, and the best trajectories are refined and validated by a digital twin before real‑world execution. In eight real‑world manipulation tasks, the system achieved a 71.25% success rate with a single GPT‑6 Astra evaluator, outperforming baseline methods.

FOCAL-VLA: Subtask-Guided Geometry Distillation and Implicit World Modeling for Vision-Language-Action Models

FOCAL‑VLA is a framework that improves vision‑language‑action models by combining subtask‑guided geometry distillation with implicit world modeling. It transfers geometric knowledge from VGGT to focus on subtask‑relevant image regions and uses Track4World features to capture future 3D evolution, guiding action generation without running these models at inference time. Experiments demonstrate that FOCAL‑VLA outperforms baselines on both simulation benchmarks and real‑world manipulation tasks.
