Exact and Calibrated Diffusion Reconstruction for Digital Breast Tomosynthesis

Read the original on Hugging Face Trending Papers →

Limited-angle digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) reconstructs a volume from a few low-dose projections over a narrow arc. At a representative nine-view, $25^{\circ}$ protocol more than 98% of image space is unmeasured, so a learned prior must supply structure in the missing wedge.

FB-GDM: Fully-Bayesian Guided Diffusion Models for High-Dimensional Linear Inverse Problems via Unsupervised Variational Inference

FB‑GDM is a fully‑Bayesian guided diffusion method that eliminates the need for task‑specific hyperparameter tuning in linear inverse problems. It derives a closed‑form conditional score from a Gaussian approximation of ΦGDM, treating two precision parameters as latent variables inferred via variational inference at each reverse step. Experiments on CelebA‑HQ show that FB‑GDM outperforms ΦGDM at its nominal setting, matches a ground‑truth‑calibrated oracle within 0.1 dB, and remains robust to changes in the forward operator, noise level, or image distribution without hallucinations.

Deep Slice Interpolation for Reducing Through-Plane Anisotropy and Noise in Head CT

arXiv:2606. 09953v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Head computed tomography (CT) typically uses sub-millimeter in-plane resolution but 2-5 mm through-plane spacing, creating substantial anisotropy that degrades multiplanar reconstructions, volumetric measurements such as hematoma volume estimation, and downstream algorithms that assume near-isotropic voxels.

CATCH: Counterfactual Anatomical Tissue Inpainting with Conditional Haar Diffusion

CATCH is a conditional 3D diffusion model operating in an invertible Haar-wavelet domain designed to inpaint masked regions in T1‑weighted brain MRI with plausible, tumor‑free tissue while preserving observed anatomy. The model’s denoiser uses noisy target coefficients, voided‑image coefficients, and a signed mask, guided by tumor‑excluded wavelet reconstruction and a hole‑focused loss, and hard compositing ensures observed voxels remain unchanged. Experiments on BraTS data show that a weighted mixture of tumor‑derived, irregular‑blob, and ellipsoidal masks yields the best performance, achieving higher SSIM, PSNR, and lower MSE compared to fixed or random augmentation baselines.
