DROA-CLIPSeg: Prompt-Guided Thin Crack Segmentation in Low-Light Conditions

Read the original on arXiv AI →

DROA-CLIPSeg is a lightweight, prompt‑guided framework for segmenting thin pavement cracks in low‑light conditions. It adapts a frozen CLIPSeg backbone with QKV Low‑Rank Adaptation and a Domain Residual Orthogonal Adapter to enhance crack‑specific image‑text alignment and preserve faint crack features. The model, trained with only ~1.93 M parameters, outperforms several vision‑language baselines and generalises zero‑shot to diverse defect datasets.

TED:Text-Axis Evidence Decomposition for Prompted Anomaly Localization

The paper introduces TED (Text-Axis Evidence Decomposition), a post‑hoc scoring method that improves anomaly localization in CLIP‑based detectors without altering the backbone or prompts. TED evaluates whether ambiguous responses are better supported by defect patches or normal patches, thereby distinguishing true defects from visually complex normal regions. Experiments show that TED significantly enhances pixel‑level localization across frozen VLM backbones and adapted hosts, especially under hard‑false‑positive competition.

MEVL-STP: Multi-Encoder and Vision Language Model for Arbitrarily Shaped Scene Text Spotting

MEVL-STP introduces a two‑stage pipeline for spotting arbitrarily shaped scene text. The detection stage fuses features from six frozen vision encoders via a hierarchical Feature Pyramid Network and a Progressive Scale Expansion network to produce precise polygon masks. The recognition stage then crops these masks and feeds them to a fine‑tuned Qwen3‑VL‑8B‑Instruct model, achieving state‑of‑the‑art detection and end‑to‑end performance on CTW1500, Total‑Text, and ICDAR 2015 without synthetic pretraining.
