Beyond Report Imitation: Clinically Aware Multi-Image Ultrasound Report Generation from Visible Evidence

Read the original on arXiv AI →

The paper introduces CAMEO, a framework for generating ultrasound reports from multiple images that emphasizes clinical awareness and evidence grounding. It consists of three stages: learning visual-language primitives, cross-view evidence grounding using distilled image-report pairs, and clinically aware preference alignment with error-oriented pairs. Experiments on the USReport-Distilled benchmark show significant improvements over prior models in BLEU, ROUGE, METEOR, and ClinicalScore metrics.

MultiViewDx: Evidence-Linked Multi-View Clinical Diagnosis

MultiViewDx is a physician‑validated multimodal instruction dataset that links medical imaging studies with patient context and normalizes heterogeneous reports into an evidence‑linked workflow (evidence → findings → differential discussion → diagnosis). The dataset covers a wide range of imaging modalities and uses a unified image‑text retriever to ensure that instruction synthesis is grounded in source‑supported evidence. Fine‑tuned models on MultiViewDx achieve the highest average accuracy on four MedVQA benchmarks and receive the strongest overall rating on JAMA Clinical Challenge cases, with ablations confirming the importance of case‑level multi‑view organization and evidence‑linked reasoning.

CARE-X: Towards Clinically Useful Radiology VLMs with Auxiliary Supervision, Reward-Aligned Learning, and Tool-Augmented Measurement

arXiv:2608. 03890v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: A clinically useful chest X-ray system must go beyond fluent report generation: it should classify findings with tunable decision thresholds, localize them spatially, and derive the anatomical measurements upon which many diagnoses depend.

CliQ-RRG: Clinical-Knowledge Guided Disease-aware Visual-Textual Alignment for QA-Style Radiology Report Generation

CliQ‑RRG is a two‑stage framework for generating radiology reports that aligns visual and textual data using disease‑aware embeddings and prior‑guided attention to capture multi‑view dependencies. The second stage retrieves graph‑grounded clinical evidence and employs a large language model to produce concise, interpretable question‑answer style reports with diagnostic summaries. Experiments on two chest X‑ray benchmarks show that CliQ‑RRG outperforms previous methods on both lexical and clinical metrics, producing accurate and clinically coherent reports.
