The paper introduces BioGlyph, a method that translates network topology into a language of structural roles such as hubs, community cores, and cross-community connectors. By encoding these roles in a universal, interpretable vocabulary, BioGlyph allows large language models to answer structural reasoning questions about networks more accurately—improving system accuracy by up to 26 percentage points compared to edge-based or numerical representations. Experiments across twenty networks in five domains show the approach is especially effective for dense, community-structured networks and reveals biologically meaningful patterns in a budding-yeast protein-interaction network.

When many people highlight the same document, is the crowd a single consensus, or is it internally structured into reader sub-groups that mark different things -- and is that structure a stable property of a reader or of the document? Building on prior work showing an individual's within-document highlighting signal is a whisper while individuality lives in selection, we ask the group-level question on a co-readership platform using a margin-preserving curveball null.
The paper investigates how large language model agents on the open platform Moltbook represent humans, focusing on human-directed stereotypes. Using an annotation framework with four dimensions—morality, friendliness, competence, and autonomy—and a subtype scheme for other attributions, the study finds that competence is the dominant evaluation, while many other attributions describe humans as epistemic, cultural, or embodied subjects. The authors also analyze how these representations appear in narrative contexts and platform-level circulation, noting that community feedback is better explained by exposure, author visibility, and content selection rather than stable insider–outsider dynamics.
