The paper introduces D3S2, a diffusion‑guided dataset distillation framework tailored for semantic segmentation. It tackles long‑tailed class imbalance, pixel‑wise alignment, and high computational cost by first selecting class‑balanced masks and then synthesizing images with a pretrained diffusion model conditioned on those masks. Guided diffusion sampling further refines the data with segmentation‑consistency and class‑wise feature matching losses, achieving superior performance at a 1% compression rate on ADE20K and COCO‑Stuff.

The paper introduces Chameleon, a two‑stage training framework for cross‑domain image compositing that separates style and content representations. It first trains a ChameleonEncoder using Joint Hard Contrastive Learning to disentangle style and content, then applies Spatio‑Temporal Attention Gating within a diffusion transformer to stylize the foreground while preserving its identity. The authors also release ChameleonDataset, the first large‑scale training set for cross‑domain compositing, and demonstrate that Chameleon outperforms existing in‑domain, cross‑domain, and commercial models in both plausibility and stylistic fidelity.

OD3 introduces an optimization‑free dataset distillation framework tailored for object detection. The method first iteratively places object instances in synthesized images, then screens candidates with a pre‑trained observer model to discard low‑confidence objects. Applied to MS COCO and PASCAL VOC, OD3 achieves compression ratios from 0.25% to 5% and surpasses previous detection‑focused distillation methods by over 14% on COCO mAP50 at a 1.0% compression ratio.

The paper investigates how knowledge distillation from event cameras to RGB images can alter the inductive biases of convolutional neural networks. By transferring learning from the event domain, the authors find that models gain color invariance, a shape bias, and improved robustness to high‑frequency noise, largely due to reduced reliance on texture and increased emphasis on edge‑based object shape. These changes are evidenced by early‑layer processing differences and a spectral trade‑off between robustness to missing high‑frequency content and vulnerability to its contamination or geometric disruption.

JMT-YOLO is a new joint multi-task learning framework for domain adaptive object detection that builds on the Mean Teacher architecture. It adds an auxiliary semantic segmentation task and a masking mechanism to better model foreground–background boundaries and improve instance-level alignment. Experiments on Pascal VOC→Clipart1k, Cityscapes→Foggy Cityscapes, and KITTI→Cityscapes show that JMT‑YOLO outperforms existing state‑of‑the‑art methods, achieving 46.9%, 57.3%, and 61.0% detection performance respectively.

Learning-State-Aware Dynamic Generative Data Augmentation on Small-Scale Datasets proposes LSADA, a method that constructs a learning state for each sample based on its loss and loss‑decrease rate to determine a sample‑specific augmentation strength. LSADA also introduces a decoupled data augmentation and diffusion fusion strategy that applies strength‑controlled transformations to class‑relevant regions while generating diverse class‑irrelevant regions, progressively fusing them to enhance image diversity while preserving class semantics. Experiments on nine public datasets demonstrate that LSADA outperforms the current state‑of‑the‑art dynamic GDA method by an average of 4.5% on six natural image datasets and 2.5% on three medical image datasets.
