On the conditional equivalence of phase retrieval algorithms

arXiv:2606. 07257v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Phase retrieval - recovering a complex-valued field from intensity measurements - is typically solved using variants of the Gerchberg-Saxton (GS) algorithm, understood as alternating projections between measurement planes.

RIPPLE: Generating Multi-Channel Phase, Not Recovering It

arXiv:2607. 27775v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Generative models synthesize magnitude spectra with high fidelity, while phase is delegated to a recovery module---Griffin--Lim, a vocoder, or a latent decoder---applied independently to each channel.

Sensor-Informed Per-Point Covariance for Structured-Light 3D Imaging

Per-point uncertainty models are important in structured-light 3D reconstruction for probabilistic registration, fusion, and quality assessment. In practice, however, point-cloud covariances are often modeled as isotropic constants or inferred from local surface geometry and therefore do not explicitly reflect the measurement process.

PAGS: Autofocusing Photoacoustic Tomography via Speed-of-Sound-Adaptive Gaussian Splatting

PAGS is a new differentiable framework for blind autofocusing in photoacoustic computed tomography (PACT). It represents the initial pressure field with sparse Gaussian photoacoustic sources and models the speed‑of‑sound heterogeneity using a compact anisotropic path‑averaged field parameterized by spherical harmonics. By jointly optimizing the Gaussian source parameters and the speed‑of‑sound field in a closed‑loop signal‑domain approach, PAGS achieves sharper reconstructions in heterogeneous media, remains robust to sparse‑view sampling, and offers computational advantages through an analytic Gaussian acoustic projection.

ASTRA-SR: Atmospheric Seeing and Turbulence Restoration for Astronomical Image Super-Resolution

ASTRA-SR is a blind single‑frame restoration framework designed for ground‑based planetary imaging, addressing atmospheric turbulence, sensor noise, and limited sampling. It is trained on a physics‑grounded synthetic dataset that uses high‑dynamic‑range spacecraft RAW observations as clean sources and synthesizes low‑resolution inputs with realistic turbulence, PSFs, and noise. The method first produces a noise‑suppressed but blur‑retaining low‑resolution image, then restores spatial structure via multiscale processing and refines high‑resolution detail with serial spatial‑amplitude refinement, achieving a 0.49 dB PSNR gain over the strongest baseline approaches.
