The paper introduces a model‑agnostic framework that lets frozen large language models (LLMs) and vision‑language models (VLMs) learn from deployment experience without retraining. It does so by adding three external expertise components—a Skill for guiding reasoning and tool use, a Knowledge Memory for storing reliable facts, and a Multimodal Knowledge Base for visual examples—and by using a validation strategy that updates only when new cases improve performance without harming past performance. Experiments on six benchmarks with both open‑weight and closed‑source models show up to a 34.2% performance gain on medical tasks, generalization to unseen cases, and transferability to other models and non‑medical domains.

The paper introduces MedForget, a hierarchy‑aware multimodal unlearning benchmark that models medical data as nested institutional structures, allowing fine‑grained evaluation of retain and forget splits. Experiments reveal that existing unlearning methods struggle to achieve effective hierarchy‑aware forgetting without harming retained utility on clinically relevant tasks. To address this, the authors propose CHIP, a training‑free method that deletes target‑specific weight subspaces while preserving sibling‑shared information, achieving superior forget‑retain performance across all hierarchy levels while maintaining competitive downstream utility.

Lingshu is a medical‑specialized multimodal large language model that addresses key limitations of existing medical MLLMs, such as narrow knowledge coverage, hallucinations, and weak reasoning. The authors curate a comprehensive dataset combining medical imaging, texts, and general‑domain data, then train Lingshu in multiple stages to embed medical expertise and improve task performance. They also introduce MedEvalKit, a unified evaluation framework, and demonstrate that Lingshu outperforms current open‑source multimodal models on multimodal QA, text‑based QA, and medical report generation.

MedResearcher‑R1 is a medical deep‑research agent that uses a Knowledge‑Informed Trajectory Synthesis (KISA) framework to build medical knowledge graphs and generate complex multi‑hop question‑answer pairs, especially for rare medical entities. It also incorporates a medical retrieval engine and general‑purpose tools to reliably synthesize medical evidence. The resulting 2,100+ trajectories across 12 specialties enable supervised fine‑tuning and reinforcement learning, producing a 32B model that outperforms larger proprietary systems on MedBrowseComp and shows strong performance on GAIA and xBench benchmarks.

The paper introduces MedUAG, a unified medical multimodal model that supports both understanding and generation tasks. It presents MedUAGCorpus, the largest dataset of over 6 million instances across 14 imaging modalities, and MedUAGBench, a benchmark covering 12 diverse generation tasks with standardized protocols. Experiments show that MedUAG performs strongly across many medical understanding and generation tasks, setting a competitive baseline for future medical multimodal systems.
