The paper introduces a neurosymbolic verification framework that audits the internal consistency of vision-language models (VLMs) when generating radiology reports. By autoformalizing free‑text findings into structured propositional evidence and using an SMT solver (Z3) alongside a clinical knowledge base, the system determines whether each diagnostic claim is entailed, hallucinated, or omitted. Evaluation on seven VLMs across five chest X‑ray benchmarks reveals distinct reasoning failure modes—such as conservative observation and stochastic hallucination—that traditional metrics miss, and shows that enforcing solver‑backed entailment can eliminate unsupported hallucinations and improve diagnostic soundness and precision.

CliQ‑RRG is a two‑stage framework for generating radiology reports that aligns visual and textual data using disease‑aware embeddings and prior‑guided attention to capture multi‑view dependencies. The second stage retrieves graph‑grounded clinical evidence and employs a large language model to produce concise, interpretable question‑answer style reports with diagnostic summaries. Experiments on two chest X‑ray benchmarks show that CliQ‑RRG outperforms previous methods on both lexical and clinical metrics, producing accurate and clinically coherent reports.

CliQ‑RRG is a two‑stage framework for generating radiology reports that aligns visual and textual data using disease‑aware embeddings and a Prior‑Guided Attention Module to capture multi‑view dependencies. In the second stage, GraphRAG‑guided retrieval adds graph‑grounded clinical evidence, and a large language model restructures the content into concise question‑answer pairs with diagnostic summaries. Experiments on two chest X‑ray benchmarks show that CliQ‑RRG outperforms previous methods in both lexical and clinical metrics, producing accurate and clinically coherent QA‑style reports.

Medical imaging is a cornerstone of diagnostics, yet automated chest X-ray report generation struggles with structural adherence, anatomical completeness, and semantic faithfulness. We introduce DobicVLM, a vision-language model combining supervised fine-tuning on MedGemma-4B with Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) and clinically-grounded programmatic rewards.
