Confining Nondeterminism: AI-Driven Research Systems as DBMSs for Reliable, Non-Wasteful, Transparent, and Collaborative Research [Vision]

arXiv:2607. 10508v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: LLM agents that conduct research (proposing ideas, writing and running code, analyzing results) can already carry a study from research question to figures, yet cannot be fully trusted.

Agent libOS: A Library-OS-Inspired Runtime for Long-Running, Capability-Controlled LLM Agents

Large language model (LLM) agents are evolving from request-response assistants into long-running software actors: they maintain state across model calls, fork subtasks, wait for external events, request human authority, generate tools, and perform side effects that must be resumed and audited. This paper presents Agent libOS, a library-OS-inspired runtime substrate for LLM agents.

Blueprint First, Model Second: A Framework for Deterministic LLM Workflow

arXiv:2508. 02721v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: While powerful, the inherent non-determinism of large language model (LLM) agents limits their application in structured operational environments where procedural fidelity and predictable execution are strict requirements.
