Dual-State Slot Attention: Decoupling Appearance and Identity for Video Object-Centric Learning

Dual-State Slot Attention (DSSA) is a self‑supervised framework that separates per‑frame appearance from temporally stable identity within each slot, addressing conflicts that cause slot swapping in video object‑centric learning. It introduces a learned recurrent transition for identity updates and competition‑modulated aggregation to suppress weakly matching slots, thereby improving segmentation quality and temporal consistency. Experiments on MOVi‑C, MOVi‑D, and YouTube‑VIS show DSSA outperforms prior methods and enhances downstream object recognition and video dynamics prediction.

TSA: Temporal Slot Activation for Persistent Object-Centric Video Representation

TSA: Temporal Slot Activation for Persistent Object-Centric Video Representation proposes a lightweight mechanism that learns per-slot, per-frame activation scores to control slot lifecycle in unsupervised video object-centric learning. By gating slot updates and decoder participation when objects are absent or occluded, TSA reduces state drift and reconstruction interference, improving object decomposition and temporal identity preservation. The method is evaluated on MOVi-C, MOVi-E, YTVIS-HQ, and OVIS benchmarks, showing significant gains, especially on long, heavily occluded videos.

TrajTok: Learning Trajectory Tokens enables better Video Understanding

TrajTok introduces an end‑to‑end video tokenizer that replaces traditional patchification with a lightweight, trajectory‑based tokenization process. It performs implicit clustering over space‑time pixels to generate object trajectories in a single forward pass, dynamically adjusting token granularity to semantic complexity while remaining independent of video duration. The resulting TrajViT2 model outperforms existing methods on classification and retrieval benchmarks, and TrajTok can also serve as a probing head (TrajAdapter) or alignment connector (TrajVLM) for vision‑language tasks, notably improving long‑video reasoning.

DiDA: Video Object Segmentation with Distillation Learning of Deformable Attention

DiDA introduces a lightweight video object segmentation framework that leverages Distillation Learning of Deformable Attention. The method uses deformable attention to adapt key and value positions across frames, enabling object representations that are responsive to spatial and temporal changes. Experiments on DAVIS and YouTube‑VOS benchmarks show state‑of‑the‑art performance and efficient memory usage.

LeVJEPA: Efficient & Scalable Video Pretraining without the Heuristics

LeVJEPA is a video encoder that eliminates the need for architectural asymmetries, exponential-moving-average target encoders, stop-gradients, and capacity-limited predictors used in prior self‑supervised methods. It trains a single encoder with an invariance loss over global and local views, regularized by SIGReg to prevent collapse, and achieves strong performance with far less pretraining compute. The approach also allows block‑causal attention, making temporal ordering a property of the encoder itself, and matches or surpasses state‑of‑the‑art baselines on both appearance‑centric and motion‑centric benchmarks.

Object-centric LeJEPA

arXiv:2607. 02404v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Image encoders trained with LeJEPA can deliver strong features for downstream tasks, but, like other image-level self-supervised methods, typically require large training datasets.

SAM-V: Geometry-Aware Segment Anything for Multi-View Instance Segmentation

SAM‑V is a geometry‑aware extension of the Segment Anything Model (SAM) that integrates 3D priors from a feed‑forward geometry model (VGGT) into 2D segmentation. It uses a prompt‑fusion mechanism to combine sparse SAM prompts with view‑specific camera tokens and local VGGT features, enabling a mask decoder that attends to both dense 2D and 3D cues. The resulting end‑to‑end system produces consistent multi‑view instance segmentation in a single forward pass, achieving significant gains on the IGGT 3D tracking benchmark without offline mask matching or explicit 3D reconstruction.

Learning from Next-Frame Prediction: Towards Unified and Scalable Visual Representation Learning

The paper introduces VANE, a self‑supervised visual pretraining framework that learns from next‑frame prediction in embedding space. It uses a causal encoder to summarize past observations, a state predictor to infer the representation of the entire next frame, and a lightweight generative decoder to reconstruct fine‑grained spatial detail. By applying the same objective to both videos and still images through a local‑to‑global crop sequence, VANE achieves state‑of‑the‑art performance on anticipation, recognition, and dense perception benchmarks, notably outperforming V‑JEPA on EPIC‑KITCHENS‑100 action anticipation.
