RecGen3D is a framework that merges feed‑forward reconstruction and diffusion‑based generation to address the trade‑off between reconstruction fidelity and generative plausibility in sparse‑view 3D modeling. By aligning both models in a shared canonical space and using decoupled cooperative learning, the system stabilizes training and allows the reconstruction module to supply canonical geometric anchors while the diffusion generator refines and completes the structure. Experiments show that RecGen3D outperforms existing methods in producing complete and consistent 3D models from sparse observations.

Geometric foundation models, such as the Visual Geometry Grounded Transformer (VGGT), provide strong 3D priors from unposed images. However, such models operate purely in a feed-forward, deterministic regime, \ie~they cannot generate plausible geometry beyond what the input views directly support.
For full-body avatars, modeling surface dynamics is crucial for overcoming the uncanny valley and achieving perceptual realism. Person-agnostic methods recover static 3D avatars from monocular images, videos, or text prompts, but their skeleton-driven animations lack realistic surface dynamics such as clothing wrinkles.
Sparse voxel representation has emerged as a scalable foundation for image-to-3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) generation, yet current methods struggle to preserve high-frequency visual details of input images due to two structural bottlenecks. First, they adopt discriminative 2D features optimized for semantic abstraction to construct sparse voxel latents, which suppress reconstructive cues and induce a representation bottleneck.
