AILQA: Evaluating AI-Driven Legal Question Answering Systems for the Indian Legal System

This comprehensive study introduces an advanced Artificial Intelligence for Indian Legal Question Answering (AILQA) system tailored to the Indian legal context. AILQA leverages a variety of embedding and generative models, including recent Large Language Models (LLMs), to address the unique challenges posed by the intricate and diverse nature of Indian legal texts and to enhance the accuracy and reliability of responses to legal questions.

RAGAL: A Frugal, Fully Local Retrieval-Augmented Assistant for Technical Support at a Government Agency

Public institutions hold large volumes of sensitive documents and support tickets that cannot leave the premises, ruling out cloud-hosted language models entirely. We report on RAGAL, a retrieval-augmented assistant for the technical-support team of AFIR, the Romanian Agency for Financing Rural Investments, built and operated under three hard constraints: zero data egress (no external API calls, even for synthetic data), a read-only mandate (the assistant drafts, humans execute), and a single 8 GB consumer laptop as the only development and training machine.

Design and Validation of a Lightweight 1D CNN for Affective Touch Classification in Soft Plush Companions

arXiv:2607. 16196v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Soft, sensorized companions offer a physically safe and emotionally intuitive interface for socially assistive technologies, yet their deformability and multichannel tactile sensing complicate the robust interpretation of human affect.

A Research Prototype for Closed-Loop Generative Design of Customized Foot Orthoses via Semantic-Physics Alignment

arXiv:2607. 16631v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Translating unstructured clinical prescriptions into patient-specific foot orthoses (FOs) is hindered by a semantic-physical misalignment: high-level clinical intent is not mapped deterministically onto the 3D geometric parameters of the orthosis, and existing design workflows remain dependent on manual expertise with no instantaneous biomechanical validation.

SGMCE: Segment-Grounded Morphological Concept Explanation for Malaria Parasite Species Identification in Thick Blood Smears

arXiv:2607. 16324v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Malaria diagnosis in endemic regions depends on species-level identification of Plasmodium parasites in thick blood smears, but deep learning detectors classify detections without providing morphological evidence for their predictions, limiting the ability of microscopists to audit those predictions at the case level.
