arXiv:2603. 05167v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly used as judges of chain-of-thought (CoT) reasoning, yet it remains unclear whether they can reliably assess process faithfulness rather than merely answer plausibility.
arXiv:2604.08454v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Large language models are increasingly deployed in high-stakes domains, where confident yet incorrect inferences may cause severe real-world harm,...
arXiv:2607. 14049v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The emergence of Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning has significantly enhanced the ability of large language models (LLMs) to tackle complex, multi-step tasks.
arXiv:2606. 01243v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Latent reasoning enables Large Language Models (LLMs) to perform multi-step inference within continuous hidden states, offering efficiency gains over explicit Chain-of-Thought (CoT).
The paper introduces EquivAug, a data augmentation framework that applies symbolic equivalence transformations to chain-of-thought (CoT) solutions, generating diverse yet provably correct reasoning paths for supervised fine-tuning (SFT). By converting CoT solutions into formal symbolic representations, applying equivalence transformations, and reconstructing natural-language explanations, EquivAug produces training data that varies in reasoning steps rather than surface-level lexical differences. Experiments on GSM8K and FOLIO show that EquivAug consistently achieves the highest reasoning path diversity after SFT and the strongest accuracy after GRPO, establishing a positive correlation between CoT diversity during SFT and downstream reinforcement learning with verifiable rewards (RLVR) performance.
ReFIne is a training framework that augments large reasoning models with three trustworthiness properties: interpretability, faithfulness, and reliability. It combines supervised fine‑tuning with GRPO to produce structured, tag‑based reasoning traces, explicitly disclose decisive information, and provide self‑assessments of soundness and confidence. Applied to Qwen3 models, ReFIne improves interpretability by 44.0 %, faithfulness by 18.8 %, and reliability by 42.4 % on mathematical benchmarks.
