MemReg: Streaming Outdoor LiDAR Point Cloud Registration with Hybrid Memory Buffers

MemReg introduces a multi-frame outdoor LiDAR point cloud registration network that leverages hybrid memory buffers to capture temporal correlations in streaming sequences. The system uses an implicit memory feature buffer and an explicit memory pose buffer to store and update pose-related temporal features, while a dynamic history weighting module adaptively fuses current and historical information. Experiments on KITTI, nuScenes, and Apollo-Southbay datasets show MemReg surpasses previous pair-wise methods and multi-frame SLAM systems, and it also performs competitively on indoor datasets such as 3DMatch, 3DLoMatch, and ScanNet.

CVSD-Reg: Cross-Modal Visual Semantic Prior Distillation for Robust LiDAR Registration

Learning-based global point cloud registration has achieved remarkable progress, yet its reliance on geometric representations makes existing methods sensitive to variations in point density, scan pattern, viewpoint, and sensor characteristics. We propose CVSD-Reg, a robust global LiDAR registration framework that distills visual semantic priors from a vision foundation model into LiDAR representations.

Spectral Consistency-Guided Multiview Point Cloud Registration for Low-Overlap Scenes

The paper introduces GMPCR, a non‑learning spectral consistency‑guided framework for multiview point cloud registration in low‑overlap scenes. GMPCR refines initial correspondences into a second‑order compatibility structure, uses spectral analysis to filter unreliable matches and select informative scan pairs, and then applies maximal‑clique hypothesis generation for robust relative transformations. The resulting sparse pose graph is further refined with an adaptive history‑aware synchronization scheme, and a recovery mechanism allows previously down‑weighted edges to regain confidence, achieving high registration recalls on benchmark datasets while reducing computational cost.

Anchor3R: Streaming 3D Reconstruction with Transient Anchors for Long-Horizon Visual Mapping

Anchor3R is a streaming 3D reconstruction framework that predicts window-relative poses and local geometry in the current‑frame coordinate system, forming a dense relative‑pose graph for online pose updates and loop‑aware motion averaging. It improves long‑horizon pose accuracy and dense reconstruction quality on indoor, outdoor, driving, and RGB‑D benchmarks, and generalizes from 48‑frame training sequences to streams exceeding 10,000 frames while keeping GPU memory bounded. The method addresses issues of train‑test mismatch, early‑anchor bias, and accumulated drift found in previous streaming models.

Temporal-Aware Fusion for Robust Outdoor LiDAR Localization

The paper introduces TempLoc, a Temporal‑aware Localization framework that improves outdoor LiDAR relocalization by leveraging spatio‑temporal consistency across scans. It first predicts point‑wise global coordinates with uncertainties, then estimates inter‑frame correspondences using an attention‑based Prior Coordinate Generation module, and finally fuses these predictions in an uncertainty‑guided manner to produce a more accurate global 6‑DoF pose. Experiments on the NCLT and Oxford RobotCar datasets show that TempLoc significantly outperforms existing state‑of‑the‑art methods.

MIRAGE: Metric Inference and Reliability-Aware Gaussian Estimation from Feed-Forward Vision

MIRAGE is a method that fuses feed‑forward visual geometry with LiDAR‑IMU metric motion to provide reliable metric pose estimation and high‑fidelity Gaussian reconstruction. It regulates pose corrections based on correspondence support and cross‑modal agreement, achieving accurate metric trajectories and outperforming COLMAP on datasets such as Oxford Spires, M2DGR, and INS. Additionally, MIRAGE was used to create a new multimodal data‑collection platform and establish accurate 6‑DoF reference trajectories for a vision‑only benchmark, enabling systematic evaluation of monocular large‑scale reconstruction methods in long‑horizon indoor scenes.

Register Anything Model for Generalizable and Robust Point Cloud Registration

The paper introduces the Register Anything Model (RAM), a unified approach for 3D point cloud registration that can robustly estimate 6‑DoF transformations across a wide range of domains, including indoor, outdoor, and object scenes. RAM overcomes domain‑specific challenges by employing a geometry‑aware normalization that voxelizes and standardizes point clouds based on their geometric properties, followed by a hierarchical coarse‑to‑fine pipeline with a geometric transformer that focuses on local consistency. Experiments on 12 benchmarks show that RAM achieves state‑of‑the‑art inlier ratios and registration recall, outperforming methods trained on individual domains and demonstrating strong generalization.

DRS-VPT: Directly Relocalizing in a Scan with Vision Point Transformers

DRS‑VPT is a feed‑forward transformer that performs image‑to‑scan registration by predicting the scan pose, point maps, and a coarse‑to‑fine feature pyramid for direct reprojective alignment. It unifies tasks like camera‑LiDAR calibration and indoor camera‑to‑map relocalization, achieving state‑of‑the‑art results in autonomous driving and competitive performance indoors without map‑specific training. The model also learns complex scan‑to‑image projection behaviors, such as occlusion of back‑facing points.
