A Unified XAI-NSAI Analytical Framework for Trustworthy IoT Anomaly Detection

The paper introduces a unified analytical framework that combines Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) and Neuro‑Symbolic Artificial Intelligence (NSAI) for trustworthy anomaly detection in Internet of Things (IoT) systems. It outlines five complementary dimensions to evaluate existing methods, identify gaps, and guide the design of new detection systems. The authors demonstrate the framework’s usefulness by applying it to three studies and a medical IoT anomaly detection case.

Self-Verifying Anomaly Detection using Explainable AI for Cybersecurity of DER Networks

The paper introduces ExCYDER, an explainable AI framework for anomaly detection in Distributed Energy Resource (DER) networks. It combines LightGBM with SHAP to self-verify alerts, ensuring that each detection aligns with feature‑attribution evidence. Experiments on a realistic DNP3 dataset show over 98% detection accuracy, 44.6% rule‑SHAP consistency, 14.5 ms SHAP latency per alert, and minimal confidence deviation, while distinguishing coherent from inconsistent alerts without sacrificing accuracy.

Generative Artificial Intelligence for Internet of Things Computing: A Systematic Survey

The paper surveys the growing integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) with the Internet of Things (IoT), noting its potential to reshape sectors such as Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Smart Cities. It highlights that most current studies focus on narrow applications, underscoring the need for a broader analysis of GenAI‑IoT synergy. The authors conduct a systematic literature review using PRISMA, present a comparison framework, and outline research questions to guide future exploration of GenAI in IoT computing.

An Adversarial Zero-Shot Learning Approach for Anomaly Detection in Multivariate IoT Traffic Data

The paper introduces a novel zero‑shot anomaly detection framework for multivariate IoT traffic data that combines adversarial learning and contrastive loss within a sequence‑based Variational Autoencoder. It achieves domain‑invariant latent representations and semantically structured embeddings without labeled data, using encoder/decoder adaptor layers to align feature distributions and a destination‑based segmentation strategy to model real‑world communication patterns. The method is evaluated on six diverse datasets across 44 transfer scenarios, showing strong zero‑shot generalization and competitive performance against a contrastive domain‑adaptation baseline in heterogeneous, privacy‑constrained IoT environments.
