Zero-shot Chinese character recognition (ZS-CCR) aims to recognize characters whose categories are never observed during training, and typically relies on the compositional structure shared between se...
TextAlign is a post‑training preference‑alignment framework that improves text rendering in large text‑to‑image generative models without changing the generator architecture. It uses a hierarchical vision‑language model to reward global, word, and glyph‑level accuracy, converting binary defect judgments into a scalar preference signal that can be optimized with GRPO or DPO. Experiments on FLUX.1‑dev and Z‑Image‑Turbo demonstrate higher OCR‑based text accuracy while preserving overall generation quality, outperforming several foundation and text‑rendering baselines.

OCR-EDR is a rendering‑aware framework that diagnoses and repairs OCR errors by comparing an editable OCR prediction with its rendered image. It jointly assesses consistency, localizes genuine errors, and applies executable edits, optionally requesting updated renderings for iterative reassessment. On the newly constructed OCRErrBench, the DocEDR model achieves 94.78% diagnostic accuracy and repairs 86.23% of erroneous inputs, improving formula metrics by up to 30.99 percentage points on benchmark datasets.

TextVBench is a new benchmark and evaluation framework for assessing how well video generation models render and preserve text. It introduces two tracks—TextVBench‑T2V for prompt‑specified text creation and maintenance, and TextVBench‑Ref2V for preserving text from reference images—using a multi‑target, multi‑instance spatiotemporal correspondence approach. The framework employs target‑conditioned candidate selection, supports multiple OCR regions per target, and separates spatial and temporal fidelity, summarizing results with a length‑weighted harmonic score and detailed diagnostics.

arXiv:2607. 03994v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Modern language models generally represent text as sequences of discrete token embeddings, an assumption deeply rooted in current practice but rarely questioned.

OCR-EDR is a rendering‑aware framework that diagnoses and repairs OCR errors by jointly evaluating an OCR prediction, its editable form, and the rendered image of the source document. It localizes genuine mistakes while preserving valid or rendering‑equivalent predictions, then applies executable edits and iteratively reassesses with updated renderings. On the newly constructed OCRErrBench, the DocEDR model achieves 94.78% diagnostic accuracy and repairs 86.23% of errors, boosting formula metrics by up to 30.99 percentage points and improving CDM scores on several OCR systems.
