STRAND is a new benchmark that tests multimodal large language models’ ability to track objects, their states, and relationships over time in videos. It evaluates intermediate reasoning by breaking queries into sub‑questions and uses Faithful Accuracy to ensure all parts of an answer are correct. The authors also propose an object‑centric framework that builds structured trajectories and shows reduced hallucinations and better temporal consistency compared to existing models.

MV-STRIDE is a Multi‑View hierarchical Spatial Reasoning dataset that models dependencies among perception, scene understanding, and contextual reasoning to support 3D spatial cognition. It introduces a QA generation pipeline that enforces cross‑view constraints, producing multi‑level reasoning tasks with chain‑of‑thought supervision. Experiments show that training on MV‑STRIDE yields state‑of‑the‑art performance on multi‑view spatial benchmarks, enabling MLLMs to reason robustly across diverse viewpoints.

The paper presents a generative framework that estimates category-level 6D pose and 3D size of objects from a single RGB image, using score-based diffusion models to produce a multi-hypothesis pose distribution. It replaces costly likelihood pruning with a Mean Shift approach to isolate the mode as the final pose estimate, achieving state-of-the-art results on the REAL275 benchmark. The method also decouples detection from pose estimation, enabling robust zero-shot generalisation on the Wild6D dataset and extending naturally to video sequences by propagating the pose distribution over time.

Real-world spatial intelligence requires agents to understand scenes from continuous video streams, where objects move, persist, disappear, and reappear over time. While recent spatial foundation models have enabled generalizable feed-forward 3D reconstruction, most streaming methods remain geometry-centric and lack temporally consistent object-level understanding.
Scaling Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) to long-form video understanding is bottlenecked by the explosion of visual tokens, which saturates context windows and incurs prohibitive costs. Curre...

VideoTIR introduces a reinforcement‑learning approach to improve long‑video understanding by encouraging multimodal large language models to use comprehensive multi‑level toolkits efficiently. It combines Zero‑RL and SFT cold‑starting strategies to help models retrieve and focus on meaningful video segments, images, and regions, thereby reducing hallucinations. The method includes Toolkit Action Grouped Policy Optimization (TAGPO) to streamline tool‑calling and a sandbox‑based trajectory synthesis framework for high‑quality data, achieving strong results on three long‑video QA benchmarks.

EventVL introduces the first generative event-based multimodal large language model (MLLM) designed for explicit semantic understanding of event streams. The framework leverages a newly annotated dataset of nearly 1.4 million event–image/video–text pairs and incorporates an Event Spatiotemporal Representation to capture comprehensive event information, along with Dynamic Semantic Alignment to refine sparse semantic spaces. Experiments demonstrate that EventVL outperforms existing MLLM baselines in event captioning and scene description generation tasks, advancing the field of event vision.
