arXiv:2607. 16875v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: We introduce the vehicle routing problem with stochastic demands and outsourcing options (VRP-SDO), in which a logistics service provider partitions customer requests into customers outsourced to a common carrier and customers committed to its fixed fleet.

arXiv:2602. 07216v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Neural combinatorial optimization (NCO) trains fast heuristics for routing problems, but planners often need more than a single solve: they ask which stop to drop, which transition to preserve, or which subset of stops to remove if a route is infeasible.

The paper introduces GREAT, a Graph Edge Attention Network that operates directly on edge space to handle asymmetric energy costs in the Electric Vehicle Routing Problem (EVRP). Integrated into a reinforcement learning framework, GREAT jointly optimizes routing and charging decisions, outperforming a strong HGS-based heuristic by up to 8.78% in energy savings and reducing runtime by a factor of 60. It also shows competitive performance against a custom adaptive large neighborhood search and achieves state‑of‑the‑art results on other asymmetric routing benchmarks such as TSP, CVRP, and Orienteering.

The paper introduces MEMENTO, a memory‑enhanced neural solver that improves routing problem solutions by using online data from repeated attempts to adjust action distributions during inference. It targets NP‑hard routing tasks such as the Traveling Salesman and Capacitated Vehicle Routing problems, outperforming existing tree‑search and policy‑gradient fine‑tuning methods. MEMENTO demonstrates strong scalability and data efficiency, achieving state‑of‑the‑art results on 11 of 12 evaluated tasks and enabling zero‑shot integration with diversity‑based solvers.

The paper introduces NICO, a learned 2‑opt local search policy for routing problems that improves upon initial neural solutions by repeatedly applying local moves. NICO addresses three shortcomings of prior policies—incumbent representation, input feature scaling, and move‑gain computation—by using edge‑based tokens without positional encodings, scale‑free features, and exact move gains added to logits. Experiments show that NICO generalizes to larger instances, achieving a 1.1% gap on 1000‑node Euclidean TSP and outperforming both greedy 2‑opt and previous learned policies, while also enhancing tours from constructive and diffusion‑based solvers on road‑network and CVRP benchmarks.
