WeAgent-MMSearch introduces a multimodal search agent that preserves retrieved images as persistent references, enabling the model to inspect, process, and cite them throughout a search trajectory. The system includes a harness (WeAgent-Harness), a post‑training method (FA‑GSPO) that recovers salvageable rollouts, and a new benchmark (VisTarget‑Bench) to evaluate image‑retrieval versus visual‑perception failures. Evaluation shows that agentic post‑training boosts performance by 19.22 points, allowing the model to outperform similarly sized open‑source models and compete with much larger ones.

The paper evaluates 14 state‑of‑the‑art text‑to‑video retrieval models on three major datasets using a unified framework. It finds that short, clear, and simple captions—especially those describing single actions or color attributes—yield higher recall, while complex, multi‑step events or fine‑grained scene descriptions remain difficult for all models. Attention‑driven architectures better handle temporally dependent or multi‑step queries, whereas dual‑encoder and multimodal fusion models excel mainly on simpler captions, and cross‑dataset generalization improves with larger, more diverse caption sets but generative captions do not consistently boost accuracy.

Gaze Attention is a new mechanism for multimodal large language models that selectively focuses on relevant visual regions during each generation step, rather than attending to all visual tokens. By grouping tokens into spatial regions and using learnable context tokens to retain global information, it reduces attention computation and visual key‑value entries by up to 90%. Experiments on 13 image and 6 video benchmarks show that Gaze Attention matches or outperforms dense‑attention baselines while using fewer visual resources.

JEPA-WAM enhances World Action Models (WAMs) by pairing text instructions with stochastically generated visual cues, using a text-to-image generator and a frozen V‑JEPA encoder to create dense goal representations. These representations are compressed into goal tokens that condition both video and action experts via cross‑attention, enabling the model to better ground instructions. On a new real‑robot benchmark, JEPA‑WAM attains 87.3%, 74.5%, and 80.9% success rates across in‑distribution, out‑of‑distribution scenes, and out‑of‑distribution instructions, outperforming prior methods by significant margins.

ShotFinder introduces a new benchmark for open‑domain video shot retrieval, formalizing editing requirements as keyframe‑oriented shot descriptions and adding five controllable constraints—temporal order, color, visual style, audio, and resolution. The benchmark comprises 1,210 high‑quality YouTube samples across 20 themes, generated with large models and verified by humans. A three‑stage retrieval pipeline—query expansion via video imagination, candidate video retrieval, and description‑guided shot localization—shows a notable performance gap to humans, especially for color and visual style constraints.
