When Synthetic Speech Is All You Have: Better Call GRPO

arXiv:2607. 08409v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: LLM-based ASR adapted to regulated domains such as banking is bottlenecked by privacy: real speech is costly and legally constrained to collect, making synthetic text-to-speech (TTS) an attractive substitute.

How to Leverage Synthetic Speech for LLM-Based ASR Systems?

arXiv:2606. 29031v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: In regulated domains such as banking and healthcare, where privacy constraints make real speech costly to collect and retain, synthetic speech from modern text-to-speech (TTS) is an appealing alternative for training automatic speech recognition (ASR) without exposing sensitive customer recordings.

GROW: Group-Relative Advantage-Weighted On-Policy Reinforcement Learning of Autoregressive-Diffusion Text-to-Speech model

arXiv:2608. 03215v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Reinforcement learning for flow-matching text-to-speech is complicated by deterministic ODE sampling: trajectory-level policy-gradient methods typically convert the ODE into an SDE and track per-step likelihood ratios, introducing stochastic perturbations and substantial overhead.

MetaSICL: Globalizing Auditory LLMs for Underserved Speakers and Languages via Meta Speech In-Context Learning

arXiv:2601. 18904v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Generative AI for speech and audio is increasingly expected to serve users across languages, cultures, and communities, yet current auditory Large Language Models (LLMs) are still largely trained and evaluated on high-resource data.

Voice Memory for Agentic Speech Recognition

arXiv:2607. 26410v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: We present Voice Memory, a inference-only scheme for agentic speech recognition: at stream time, a frozen corrector reads a single per-domain memory.

Efficient ASR Training with Conversations that Never Happened

Conversational ASR for lower-resource languages and niche domains is limited by the scarcity of domain-matched multi-speaker training data. We propose an augmentation pipeline that generates scenario-level dialogues with participant metadata, maps speaker attributes to TTS voice profiles, and assembles synthesized utterances into speaker-aware simulated conversations.
