Europe's Climate Ambition Under Scrutiny: Evidence from Deep Learning Emission Projections

The paper uses deep learning on high‑resolution socioeconomic and sectoral data to project EU27 CO₂ emissions through 2030. It finds that emissions will exceed the EU’s 55% reduction target by 35% (620 Mt CO₂ shortfall), with only a few countries on track. While the power sector is on target thanks to renewables, mobility remains a major source of emissions, indicating structural inertia across member states.

Europe's Climate Ambition Under Scrutiny: Evidence from Deep Learning Emission Projections

The study uses deep learning on high‑resolution socioeconomic and sectoral data to project EU27 CO₂ emissions through 2023 and beyond. It finds that, under current trends, EU emissions will exceed the 2030 target by 35 % (620 Mt CO₂ shortfall), with only a few countries on track. While the power sector is on target thanks to renewables, mobility contributes over a third of emissions and shows little progress, indicating structural inertia across member states.

Electricity price forecasting across Norway's five bidding zones in the post-crisis era

arXiv:2604. 26634v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Norway's electricity market is heavily dominated by hydropower, but the 2021-2022 energy crisis and stronger integration with Continental Europe have fundamentally altered price formation, reducing the reliability of forecasting models calibrated on historical data.

Climate-resilient electric vehicle charging infrastructure for sustainable cities: An interpretable causal-ensemble framework for preventive maintenance and low-carbon mobility

arXiv:2607. 21444v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure is a cornerstone of sustainable, low-carbon cities, yet urban climate stress such as extreme heat, heavy precipitation, and humidity increasingly raises equipment fault risk and undermines the resilience of urban energy and mobility services.

Climate-resilient electric vehicle charging infrastructure for sustainable cities: An interpretable causal-ensemble framework for preventive maintenance and low-carbon mobility

Reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure is a cornerstone of sustainable, low-carbon cities, yet urban climate stress such as extreme heat, heavy precipitation, and humidity increasingly raises equipment fault risk and undermines the resilience of urban energy and mobility services. Shifting operation from reactive repair to preventive maintenance depends on accurate, forward-looking fault-risk prediction, a task complicated by the heterogeneous time scales of physical, behavioral, contextual, and historical signals and by forecasting over a multi-week horizon.
