MMTClinic is a new benchmark that tests large language models on complex reasoning and question‑answering tasks involving clinical time‑series data. It combines text, medical images, and multivariate physiological signals to create 30,000 QA pairs—including 15,000 multiple‑choice and 15,000 open‑ended questions—in five languages (English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, and Tamil). The benchmark covers mortality prediction, heart‑rate forecasting, and SOFA score estimation, and evaluates 13 state‑of‑the‑art LLMs across zero‑shot, few‑shot, and chain‑of‑thought settings, revealing significant performance gaps across tasks, languages, and modalities.

In clinical practice, patients often undergo multiple imaging examinations over successive visits, yielding longitudinal data. Modeling such temporal information is crucial for reliable assessment of disease progression and treatment response.

The paper introduces ThoughtMed-1M, a large-scale medical visual question answering dataset built from de‑identified images and clinician‑generated commentaries, designed to capture structured clinical reasoning and image‑text alignment. Using this dataset, the authors train FOLTMed, a foundational large language model that achieves state‑of‑the‑art performance on 42 medical VQA benchmarks, with a macro accuracy of 85.4% and improved factuality and similarity metrics over existing models.

We investigate whether information about time-to-event risk estimated by a Cox proportional hazards model can be transferred into a generative large language model. We propose a text-based survival modelling pipeline in which structured clinical covariates are converted into text prompts and a Qwen-based large language model is fine-tuned to generate patient-specific survival risk using Cox model predictions as a training target.
arXiv:2607. 04344v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: While Large Vision-Language Models (VLMs) demonstrate remarkable generic capabilities, their clinical reasoning in specialized domains like ocular surface diseases (OSDs) is severely hindered by a paucity of high-fidelity, multimodal instruction-tuning data.
