The paper introduces Supervised Deep Multimodal Matrix Factorization (SD3MF), an interpretable framework that extends Symmetric Nonnegative Matrix Tri-Factorization to supervised prediction across populations of multimodal brain graphs. SD3MF learns deep hierarchical factorizations for each modality and a shared latent representation, jointly optimizing graph reconstruction and prediction while enabling data-driven multimodal fusion. Experiments on multimodal connectome datasets demonstrate that SD3MF outperforms strong deep learning baselines such as CNNs and GNNs, providing biologically interpretable insights through community-level interaction matrices.

UniAR is a unified framework that improves autism spectrum disorder (ASD) recognition by using multi-granularity prompt learning and a large multimodal model to generate diagnostic descriptions at word, phrase, and sentence levels. It aligns these semantic representations with visual evidence through a Mixture-of-Experts-based Multi-Scale Alignment Module, enabling robust ASD detection across heterogeneous data types. Experiments on four brain MRI and facial expression benchmarks show that UniAR outperforms state‑of‑the‑art methods, achieving 75.9% accuracy on MRI and 91.6% on facial benchmarks, with gains of 1.5 and 1.2 percentage points respectively.
arXiv:2601. 14590v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Counterfactual explanations (CFEs) provide human-centric interpretability by identifying the minimal, actionable changes required to alter a machine learning model's prediction.
The paper introduces the Counterfactual Graph Neural Process (CFGNP), an end‑to‑end method that directly answers counterfactual queries from observational data without first estimating a causal graph. CFGNP employs Graph Neural Networks to leverage a dual‑graph structure, limiting cross‑world message passing to matched factual–counterfactual variables. Experiments on synthetic and image‑based datasets, including the German Loan benchmark, show that CFGNP outperforms existing methods, reducing mean‑squared error from $4.51 imes10^{-2}$ to $0.19 imes10^{-2}$, and generalizes from 10‑node to 30‑node graphs without retraining.
HyperAMS‑Net is a deep learning framework that classifies brain disorders from resting‑state fMRI or structural MRI data. It combines adaptive multi‑scale convolution, hypergraph attention, spatial‑channel attention, and adaptive feature fusion to capture complementary patterns across multiple scales and higher‑order dependencies. Evaluated on ABIDE, REST‑meta‑MDD, and ADNI datasets, it achieves state‑of‑the‑art accuracy and AUC, with ablation studies showing hypergraph attention as the most critical component.

arXiv:2608. 07393v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging ( fMRI ) data are often pooled into collaborative multi-site consortia, as deep learning models for analyses require large datasets to generalize well.
Neural‑DISCO is a disentangled representation learning framework that enables source‑conditioned counterfactual editing of neural population activity. By partitioning latent space into label‑specific components and a residual latent, it allows selective editing of behavioral or stimulus labels while preserving other observed labels and intrinsic variability. The method is validated on simulated and real neural recordings, and combined with feature attribution to identify neurons most relevant to each label, improving recovery of known functional cell roles.
