Optimist Deep Research is an open‑source agent that conducts literature research as an iterative, state‑centric process. It breaks a research question into a tree of subquestions, uses search intents to query multiple scholarly databases, and merges results into a provenance‑preserving document registry. The agent iteratively expands the registry via citation snowballing, evaluates evidence, and refines the research plan through a critic that can add, split, rephrase, deprioritize, or close subquestions, ultimately producing a report with every citation linked to a retrieved document.

OpenFrontiers is a cross‑disciplinary resource that compiles 12,151 open research problems and a benchmark of 200 recently resolved mathematics problems, including 110 solved in 2026 and 90 still open. Each benchmark problem is formally stated in Lean 4, verified by automated probes, and reviewed independently. The evaluation protocol tests LLM agents under closed‑book, frozen‑retrieval, and live‑web conditions, revealing that closed‑book rediscovery is rare while live‑web success largely reflects retrieval of published solutions.

The paper introduces a modular agentic-AI platform that transforms heterogeneous CMC process-development documents into a dual-layer knowledge graph. The base layer creates a lexical Document‑Section‑Chunk hierarchy, while the intelligence layer extracts ontology‑aligned entities and links cross‑document concepts, all anchored by provenance. LLM agents navigate these layers to answer queries, and a novel three‑tier evaluation protocol demonstrates high retrieval‑augmented generation performance on proprietary data from a Sanofi program.

The paper introduces an end‑to‑end pipeline that harvests, validates, and models links between scholarly articles and their source code from journals such as JOSS, SoftwareX, and IPOL, as well as SIGMOD ARI reproducibility reports. It produces a curated set of 4,397 DOI‑repository pairs and defines two Wikidata‑based application profiles—one for articles and one for software—aligned with schema.org and CodeMeta. Using these profiles, the authors created 4,182 new Wikidata software items linked to their papers, while only 82 repositories were previously represented, and they demonstrate compatibility with the COAR Notify protocol for future live enrichment.

SurveyGraph introduces a framework that uses a Methods‑Entity Knowledge Graph (MEKG) to encode relationships such as follow‑on, competition, and shared‑resource links between research methods. The graph enables core‑paper discovery, hybrid outlining, and evidence‑gated narrative synthesis, outperforming flat lexical baselines in recall and achieving strong citation support and semantic edge validation. The study demonstrates MEKG’s effectiveness through controlled benchmarks, diagnostic tests, and human adjudication, positioning it as an auditable structural layer for survey generation.
