FORGE: Towards Functional Tool-Use Generalization via Keypoint Trajectory Reasoning

Read the original on arXiv AI →

arXiv:2607. 05780v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: While humans readily repurpose a book, a stone, or a shoe to drive a nail, robots trained on specific tools fail to transfer the same function to novel ones -- a gap we formalize as functional generalization.

Unified Embodied VLM Reasoning with Robotic Action via Autoregressive Discretized Pre-training

arXiv:2512. 24125v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: General-purpose robotic systems operating in open-world environments must achieve both broad generalization and high-precision action execution, a combination that remains challenging for existing Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models.

3DWay: Generalizing Robot Manipulation via 3D Consistent Waypoints

The paper introduces 3DWay, a method that predicts 3D-consistent waypoints for robot manipulation by first generating multi‑view consistent 2D waypoints and then triangulating them. This approach addresses the 3D ambiguity inherent in 2D trajectory predictions and leverages pretrained vision‑language models to provide explicit 3D motion specifications. Experiments demonstrate that 3DWay improves 3D spatial grounding and vision‑language reasoning, enhancing generalization for robot manipulation tasks.
