Financial Context-Rich Strategy for Actor-Critic based Agents: A Deep Reinforcement Learning Approach for Stock Trading

Read the original on arXiv AI →

The paper proposes a deep reinforcement learning framework for stock trading that incorporates sentiment analysis into actor‑critic agents. It compares pure policy‑optimization methods (A2C, PPO) with hybrid approaches that combine policy optimization and Q‑learning (DDPG, TD3, SAC). Results show that the hybrid agents consistently outperform others in profit maximization and risk‑averse trading when sentiment is deeply infused.

Deep reinforcement learning for optimal trading with partial information

The paper explores optimal trading under partial information, modeling the trading signal as an Ornstein‑Uhlenbeck process with regime switching. It proposes three reinforcement‑learning approaches that integrate recurrent neural networks to filter latent market regimes, comparing a one‑step method and two two‑step methods that use posterior regime probabilities or signal forecasts. Simulations and an equity pairs‑trading case study show that using posterior probability estimates of the latent regime yields the best cumulative rewards and more interpretable strategies.
