EditAgent: Rethinking Agentic Image Editing

Read the original on Hugging Face Trending Papers →

EditAgent rethinks agentic image editing by expanding both the action and observation spaces. It routes each editing step to general editors and specialized methods, attaching verification records that allow off‑the‑shelf VLM judges to outperform finetuned reward models. The approach yields parallel candidate generation and a single listwise judgment, which experts prefer over sequential refinement in 78.5% of cases and improves two open‑weight editors across three benchmarks.

ImageRSI: Verification-Driven Recursive Self-Improvement for Agentic Image Generation

ImageRSI is a framework that improves agentic image generation by keeping the generator frozen and integrating three components: a five‑dimensional verification and repair process, an experience library shared across tasks, and offline updating of the judge. Candidate experiences are added to the library only after paired A/B validation, and the judge is refined through supervised fine‑tuning and GRPO on accumulated image‑judgment records. The authors also introduce ImageReq‑Bench, a benchmark of 961 hard real‑world image‑generation requests, and report that ImageRSI achieves 52.6% Checklist Strict Accuracy on MindBench and 65.66% on ImageReq‑Bench.

From Evaluation to Evolution: Benchmarking Image Editing and Evolving Image Models

The paper introduces WeGenEditBench, a benchmark with 2,740 evaluation instances and 148 task types for image editing, focusing on local failure detection and prioritization for model improvement. It also presents WeGenEvoStudio, a multi‑agent harness that supports recursive self‑improvement by diagnosing failures, constructing retrieval‑grounded data, and adapting models. Experiments show that models such as GPT‑Image‑2 and Seedream‑5.0‑Pro excel in single‑image and text‑intensive editing, and evolution experiments demonstrate significant targeted gains on selected benchmarks.

WeAgent-MMGenEdit: A Full-Stack Recipe for Multimodal Agentic Image Generation and Editing

WeAgent-MMGenEdit is a comprehensive framework for multimodal agentic image generation and editing that addresses the unreliability of current models when prompts require external world knowledge. It introduces a multimodal harness with persistent evidence management, a scalable data construction pipeline producing 23K supervised trajectories and 14.7K RL tasks, and a bilingual benchmark (WeBench-MMGenEdit) for knowledge-intensive generation and multi-image editing. Post‑training methods based on SFT and RL further refine the agent policy and image backend, enabling a 30B‑parameter policy to outperform similarly sized models and approach the performance of a 1T‑parameter agent.

KwaiMind Technical Report

KwaiMind is a commercial image editing system that combines general editing capabilities with e-commerce specialization. It uses an agent-based data engine with 1.8 million editing pairs and a multimodal diffusion transformer trained through pre‑training, fine‑tuning, preference optimization, and online reinforcement learning. The system is guided by a vision‑language judge and specialized rewards for click‑through rate, text rendering, and product consistency, and it achieves top scores on ImgEdit, GEdit, REDEdit, and the new Ecom‑Bench, while improving predicted and actual CTR in offline and online experiments.

MT-EditFlow: Reinforcement Learning for Multi-Turn Image Editing with Flow Matching

Recent breakthroughs in instruction-based image editing have captured significant attention, as models are now capable of handling real-world editing demands with the practicality required by everyday users. However, editing models trained primarily for single-turn edits often break down in multi-turn editing--the natural interactive setting where a user iteratively refines an image based on the model's own previous outputs.
