Relative Patch Response Learning for Generalizable AI-Generated Image Detection

The paper introduces Relative Patch Response Learning (PRL) to detect AI‑generated images by comparing patch responses across two mixed views of aligned real‑generated image pairs. PRL uses a relative response objective, a reference coherence objective, and an area ranking objective to address contextual shifts caused by self‑attention, providing precise supervision for patch‑level detection. Experiments show PRL outperforms prior methods by 4.3% and 5.9% in average balanced accuracy on standard and in‑the‑wild benchmarks.

Crane: Context-Guided Prompt Learning and Attention Refinement for Zero-Shot Anomaly Detection

Crane is a CLIP‑based framework for zero‑shot anomaly detection that enhances dense localization by adapting the vision encoder with a correlation‑based attention module and conditioning learnable prompts on global image context. It further fuses anomaly‑relevant patch features into the global representation for more sensitive image‑level detection, and a variant called Crane+ leverages DINOv2 spatial correlations for stronger pixel‑level performance. Across seven industrial benchmarks, Crane raises mean image‑level AP by 4.5% and Crane+ boosts mean pixel‑level AUPRO by 9.0%.

Constructive Distortion: Improving MLLMs with Attention-Guided Image Warping

The paper introduces AttWarp, a lightweight technique that uses a multimodal large language model’s cross‑modal attention to perform rectilinear warping of input images at test time. By reallocating spatial resolution toward query‑relevant regions without altering model weights or architecture, AttWarp preserves global context while making small objects and subtle relationships easier for the model to read. Experiments on five benchmarks and four MLLMs show consistent accuracy gains, improved compositional reasoning, and reduced hallucinations compared to baseline image‑manipulation methods.

SPARED: Reasoning-Based AI-Generated Image Detection via Adversarially Edited Data

arXiv:2608. 12876v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Detecting AI-generated images is only half the task: a deployed detector must also justify its verdict, yet existing detectors inherit three failure modes from their training data: real and fake images collected from different sources invite provenance shortcuts, supervised explanation corpora teach templated rationales, and a static forgery corpus leaves the decision boundary standing still while generators keep moving.
